Introduction

Day 1:

Upon your arrival into Mohamed V International Airport in Casablanca, you will be given VIP assistance through customs and immigration to avoid any delays. You will then be escorted to your waiting vehicle and driver that will be transferring you to the Villa Mandarine, where you shall be staying in a deluxe room overnight, on a room & breakfast basis.

Depending on the time of arrival of your flight, you may have time to visit the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca whilst en route to the Villa Mandarine. If you so wish, you can also head into Rabat to tour the city, including the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, before returning to the Villa Mandarine for your overnight arrangements.

Day 2:

After breakfast this morning at the Villa Mandarine, you shall be heading to the picturesque labyrinth of Kasbah des Oudaias overlooking the Atlantic Ocean before heading on to the city of Fes, the drive taking approximately 3 hours. En route to Fes, you’ll be stopping at the famous Roman ruins of Volubulis where you’ll tour the ruins of the former capital of the Roman province of Mauritania. On leaving Volubulis you’ll make a brief stop at Moulay Idriss, the holiest site in all of Morocco. At Moulay Idriss’ centre lies the tomb of the man who brought Islam to Morocco 1,200 years ago.

You’ll continue on to Fes, where you’ll be taken to your accommodation at the Riad Fes in the medina. Here you’ll be able to relax in your suites, before heading onto the streets of Fes with your guide and private vehicle for a tour of Fes before returning to the Riad Fes for your overnight arrangements in your junior suite.

Day 3:

This morning, after breakfast at the Riad Fes, you will have the day at your leisure to relax and explore the city at your own pace! Overnight, you’ll be staying at the Riad Fes in your junior suite on a room & breakfast basis.

Day 4:

Today you head out for a full day tour, including visits to: The Bou Inania Medersa, Foundouk Nejjarine & the shrine of Moulay Idriss II. You will also visit the Attarine, one of the city’s most beautiful Medersas having recently been reopened are 4 years of restoration work.

This afternoon, you’ll visit the Jewish quarter of Fes, founded in 1438 and home to tens of thousands of Jews, immediately adjacent to the Royal Palace. You will also stop at the Ibn Danan Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in Fes and part of a UNESCO project to preserve the medieval history of Fes. For dinner, you shall be heading to the Dar Roumana for dinner and an evening of wine tasting. Overnight, you shall be staying at the Riad Fes in your junior suite.

Day 5:

After breakfast at the Riad Fes, you’ll have the morning at your leisure to spend in Fes, before departing at 13:00 and being taken to the Fes Saissa Airport to connect with your private charter flight on a Jetstream 32, flying to Zagora Airport. The flight time is approximately 90 minutes.

Upon landing into Zagora Airport, you shall be picked up by your two Toyota Prada 4x4’s with English speaking drivers. They will transfer you to the Erg Chigaga Camp where you’ll be staying overnight in your 3 double tents, the journey to the Erg Chigaga Camp will take approximately 3 hours, 30 minutes. Included at the private camp is a camel ride, allowing you to explore the Sahara desert on camel back. Overnight you’ll be staying at the Erg Chigaga Camp on a full board basis in your luxury double tent.

Day 6:

You’ll be woken early this morning, allowing you to watch the sun rise from over the dunes of the Sahara desert! You’ll then return to the Erg Chicaga Private Encampment for breakfast. After your breakfast, you’ll head out into the Foum’Zguid in the Sahara desert, in your two Toyota Prado 4x4 vehicles, this journey taking approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, off road. After some time here, you will board the vehicles again, that will drive you to the Relais & Chateux property, Dar Ahlam, which is approximately 3 hours’ drive.

Overnight, you’ll be staying at the Dar Ahlam on a full board basis in a junior suite.

Day 7:

Today, you will take breakfast in the gardens of Dar Ahlam, you’ll then board your two private Toyota Prado 4x4 vehicles and head to a nearby oasis for a camel trek. Your private vehicles can also then take you to the Valley of Almond trees, where you can visit the local villages and Kasbah’s! It is also possible to visit the Valley of the Roses where you’ll head through dramatic landscapes! Lunch will either be on your excursion, or in the gardens of the Dar Ahlam. Tonight at Dar Ahlam you shall have a private dinner before your overnight arrangements at the Dar Ahlam in your junior suite.

Day 8:

After breakfast in the gardens of Dar Ahlam, you’ll be met by your private Toyota Prado 4x4’s and driver guide that will transfer you to Ouarzazate, which is approximately 40 minutes away. You’ll spend the morning exploring Ouarzazate, including visits to the Kasbah Taouirirt and the UNESCO site of Koasbah of Ait Ben Haddou! You’ll continue onward to the High Atlas Mountains and the dramatic pass of Tizn Tichka, one of only two roads through the largest mountain range in Africa, eventually arriving into Marrakech! The total driving time today is approximately 5 hours.

In Marrakech, you shall be staying at the Villa des Orangers, a superb Relais & Chateux property, surrounded by three courtyards a mere ten minute walk from the Djemaa el F’naa. After check in and some relaxation at the Villa des Orangers, you’ll head out onto the streets of Marrakech to explore the city. The defining landmark of Marrakech is the minaret of the Koutoubia mosque! You will also explore the ancient medina, before heading to the Djemaa el Fnaa in the early evening, which will be alive with entertainers and story tellers and is regarded as the greatest square in Africa! You will return to the Villa des Orangers for your overnight arrangements in a suite.

Day 9:

This morning, you’ll be enjoying a private cooking lesson in the medina at la Maison Arabe, where you’ll be introduced to Moroccan gastronomy! Your chef will assist you in preparing a traditional meal, which you’ll all enjoy for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the colourful souks of Marrakech, selling everything you can imagine, from spices, carpets, jewelry, copper wares and cedar. Here you’ll be able to also see the local craftsmen create objects the way they have done for centuries! Overnight, you’ll be heading back to the Villa des Orangers for your overnight arrangements in your suite.

Day 10:

Today you’ll head out into Marrakech after your breakfast at the Villa des Orangers. Today in Marrakech, you’ll be visiting the Medersa ben Youssef, one of the finest Islamic monuments in Northern Africa! Close to the Medersa are two of the most interesting cultural showplaces in Marrakech; the Musee de Marrakech in the Mnebhi Palace and the Dar Bellarj cultural foundation in a former hospital for storks.

There will balso be a visit to the Saadien Tombs, the mausoleum of a great dynasty which once ruled Northern Africa. This was lost to modern society until the beginning of the 20th century, when aerial photographs revealed this lost site! Overnight, you’ll be staying at the Villa des Orangers in your suite.

Day 11:

After breakfast this morning at the Villa des Orangers, you’ll be heading in your two Toyota Prado 4x4’s into the High Atlas Mountains, which are approximately 1 hour away. Many people feel that the most beautiful part of Morocco is the rural landscape of the High Atlas Mountains. Here, you’ll find Berber villages, terraced into the mountain slopes, their flat, baked-mud roofs nestled against these fertile slopes. Life moves slowly and the locals are always hospitable to strangers!

Eventually you will arrive at Kasbah Tamadot, Richard Branson’s property in the High Atlas! Kasbah Tamadot is a luxurious and intimate retreat, where you’ll be staying in a luxury Berber tent with Jacuzzi on a full board basis.

Day 12:

Today you’ll enjoy a guided hike in the area surrounding the Kasbah Tamadot! You’ll be stopping for lunch at a local Berber home. In the afternoon, you can relax and unwind at the Kasbah Tamadot, where you’ll be staying overnight in a luxury Berber Tent with Jacuzzi.

Day 13:

This morning, you’ll depart the Kasbah Tamadot and be transferred to Casablanca and Mohamed V International Airport in your two Toyota Prado 4x4’s, which is approximately a 3 hour 30 minute journey. Upon arrival at Mohamed V International Airport, you’ll be provided with VIP assistance to avoid any delays in airport procedures as you connect with your onward international arrangements.
