Mara Ngenche Safari Camp is a luxurious tented camp with a prime location in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Hidden under the shade of its surrounding riverine forest, it has an attractive setting overlooking a busy hippo pool with an abundance of wildlife in close proximity.

Guests at Mara Ngenche enjoy unrivalled views over the confluence of the Mara and Talek Rivers. The area attracts a vast range of animals and is the setting for many of the iconic scenes of river-crossings during the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Mara Ngenche is unfenced from the Masai Mara National Reserve and has been cleverly designed to allow the exciting movement of animals through the grounds.

The camp has a relaxed and elegant atmosphere and is an ideal base for experiencing the full adventure of the African bush.

Accommodation

Mara Ngenche Safari Camp has just ten guest tents and so retains a private and exclusive feel. Each spacious guest tent is partially enclosed within its own “Boma” and has a wonderful view of the River.

Each tent has en suite facilities and is furnished with an attractive blend of modern African decor and old world charm. Double tents have a large four-poster King Size bed and are equipped with a large bath tub and private outside shower.

Activities

Mara Ngenche offers an outstanding safari experience with the incredible surroundings of the Maasai Mara. The camp’s game drives are operated in open-sided 4×4 safari vehicles (with a maximum of six guests per vehicle). The expert guides are qualified local Maasai guides who have the best knowledge of the landscape and of animal tracking.

Other activities include educational safari walks which give a close-up insight into the area’s flora and fauna, dining in the Bush, romantic Sundowner stops at scenic points, evening game drives, the opportunity to take a cultural visit to a Maasai village to learn about their way of life, entertainment by Maasai dancers and interesting talks / lectures by Maasai experts.

Balloon Safaris are also available to give a once in a lifetime experience of seeing the plains of the Masai Mara at sunrise followed by a Champagne breakfast in the bush (supplements apply).
