Although December to April is often called the “low” season, it’s actually one of Botswana’s most rewarding times to travel. The summer rains bring life and colour — wildlife is in top condition, many species are raising their young, and the bush turns lush and green. Birdlife is spectacular, the Kalahari bursts into bloom, and with fewer visitors, you’ll often have whole sightings to yourself.

Water levels in the Okavango are seasonally low, but that doesn’t take away from the experience — it’s a fantastic time for game drives, walking, and photography.
