We often get the question: “Can I go from Buenos Aires to El Calafate by bus?” Although you can do it, it is a 2 nights ride, possibly too much for most of us. But you can cut the trip in the middle and visit Puerto Madryn, a very special place in a very unexpected Patagonian corner A classic Patagonian image is a combination of mountains, forests and lakes. Atlantic Patagonia is a deserted and high coast razed by the wind. Geographical accidents like bays, gulfs, peninsulas and a constant blue sea are home of various marine species that live almost untouched by human hands. Right whales, penguins, sea lions, sea elephants, cormorants and many more can be seen in their natural habitat (when it is season). So if your plan is to go to El Calafate and see the glaciers, the mountains, lakes and forests, you may want to stop for some days to visit this remarkable place and discover it´s hidden beauties.
