The town is wedged between the Kaaimans River, Goukamma Nature Reserve, and the Outeniqua Mountains - providing a huge variety of landscapes to explore. The Wilderness National Park is a Ramsar site (wetlands of international importance), home to numerous exquisite birds and animals, including the legendary, brightly coloured Knysna Lourie, as well as some fascinating archaeological sites. Plettenberg Bay

De badplaats Plettenbergbaai is een populaire vakantiebestemming en ligt op slechts 2,5 uur rijden ten westen van Gqebertha, aan de spectaculaire Tuinroute langs de kust. De Portugese ontdekkingsreizigers noemden het de 'Mooie Baai', en het is gemakkelijk in te zien waarom - Plettenbergbaai is een pittoreske, charmante stad met eindeloze ongerepte stranden, rustige lagunes, schone rivieren, inheemse bossen en een dramatisch rotsachtig schiereiland. Speeltuin voor de rijken, strandhuizen kijken uit over de Indische Oceaan, vaak bezaaid met luxe jachten, terwijl de vrije tijd wordt besteed aan onder andere polo en golf. Alle soorten bezoekers zullen zich hier echter op hun gemak voelen, want gewoon zwemmen in het warme water op een veilig strand is een geweldige manier om de schoonheid van Plettenbergbaai te ervaren. Adrenalinezoekers kunnen een bezoek brengen aan de Bloukransbrug, op 30 minuten rijden, om de hoogste bungeejump ter wereld te doen.
