Situated on the edge of Kasane and bordering Zimbabwe, as well as the Nogatsaa area, lies the Kasane Forest Reserve. This area is characterised by dense vegetation and open grasslands, and Kasane serves as the gateway to Chobe National Park. Game viewing is most enjoyable in the early morning and late afternoon. Fishing, ferry rides, and village tours are just some of the options for exploring this region. Attractions in Kasane include Lake Liambezi, Kasane Hot Springs, Soboba Water Rapids and Recreational Park, and a Crocodile Farm. The site is affluent in wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, and giraffes.
A significant big game destination sits between Chobe National Park to the east and Moremi Game Reserve to the south. It occupies a substantial spot among big game destinations. Khwai River plays host to leopards, lions, crocodiles, wild dogs and an abundance of antelope. Elephant herds often move between mopane forests and waterways. Off-roading can be an excellent way to reach wildlife sightings up close, night drives can be used to track nocturnal animals, and game walks can also be used to track wildlife on foot. Khwai also has a sustainable development program to conserve the area's unique environment.
The Mapula Concession, popularly known as Okavango Sekwana Concession (NG12), is a scenic and wildlife-rich area in the northern Okavango Delta. It is a large area of mopane woodlands that provides excellent game viewing opportunities. Giraffe, buffalo, zebra, elephant and antelope inhabit the area. These animals are preyed upon by predators such as lions and wild dogs. Here, birdlife is rich and varied. The African paradise flycatcher, Carmine bee-eaters and endangered wattled crane share the area. It is a beautiful landscape with grass plains and islands where leadwood, knobthorn and sausage trees provide shade.
Located on the southern edge of the Okavango Delta, the town of Maun serves as the gateway to the northern regions of Botswana.
