Kailua-Kona

dní 6 - 9

Kailua-Kona, also known as Kona Town, is a contradiction in terms. As Hawaii Island’s western hub and tourist hotspot it is undeniably commercial, but the hustle, bustle and souvenir vendors are balanced with a scenic beachfront and friendly, off-beat atmosphere. Take a stroll down Ali’i Drive - the town’s palm-studded ocean road and main drag - lined with a mix of shops, eateries, historical sites, and sand and pebble beaches. Of particular interest along the drive are several old churches and a traditional royal residence. To the north of Kailua-Kona the coast is studded with secluded bays, while to the south lie lush, sprawling coffee plantations and temperate, glittering seas that are a snorkelling nirvana.
