Resting at the foot of Mount Meru, the city of Arusha is known as the gateway to northern Tanzania's safari circuit. Located between the Central Serengeti and Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve to the north, the Northern Serengeti is a remote African wildlife wonderland. A visit to the famous Gol Kopjes is a highlight, as these granite outcrops are widely regarded as one of the best places in Africa to observe cheetahs in their natural habitat.
