Spa

Days 1 - 4

The ‘original spa’, the town of Spa in Belgium, Liege Province, lies about 35 kilometres from Liege, in a lush valley of the Ardennes. The healing properties of the waters and the wonderful treatments offered here were of such significance in the 1700s that the place name was adopted for the meaning we know today, and the remnants of its golden age can be seen in several impressive heritage buildings, including the oldest casino in Europe. Today, Spa continues to flourish with a range of top-notch spa facilities offering indulgent treatments, up to date with the wellness trends. History-lovers should make sure to visit the Musée de la Ville d’Eaux, the home of King Leopold II’s wife, Marie Henriette of Austria (1836-1902), while motor enthusiasts will delight in a visit to the Spa-Francorchamps track.
