This is a day of shared discovery for the whole family, combining iconic sights, hands-on experiences, and active fun. From the heights of Table Mountain to the colourful streets of Bo Kaap, an interactive cooking class, and a coastal cycle, this experience connects the city’s rich culture with playful moments and lasting memories.

Start your day with a scenic ride up Table Mountain in the rotating cable car, revealing breathtaking 360-degree views of Cape Town and the surrounding coast. At the summit, enjoy a family-friendly hike away from the crowds, where kids can spot dassies (rock rabbits) and explore the unique fynbos vegetation. Along the trail, your guide will share the story of Cape Town’s past, using historic photographs to show how the city has changed over time. Pause in a peaceful spot for fresh coffee and home-baked treats, perfect for both big and little explorers.
Back at sea level, head into the vibrant Bo Kaap district. Wander the cobbled streets lined with colourful 17th-century houses, mosques, and spice markets. Visit artisan stores and meet the locals behind Cape Town’s growing movement of handcrafted, eco-conscious design. It’s a playful and photogenic stop that’s rich in culture and personality.
For lunch, head to the V&A Waterfront and step into the flavourful world of Cape Malay cuisine at SPYCED Restaurant. Guided by local food legend Fayruza Abrahams, you’ll take part in an interactive cooking class that’s equal parts storytelling and skill-building. Learn how to fold the perfect samosa, blend aromatic spices, and cook up a rich Cape Malay curry, then sit down together to enjoy the meal you’ve created.
After lunch, explore the nearby Watershed Market, known for its creative design, handmade goods, and township art initiatives. This space is a hub for local talent and community-driven projects, offering an inspiring window into Cape Town’s contemporary craft scene.
Continue your day as a true local, by making your way to the bustling Sea Point Promenade for an active afternoon along this beautiful coastal promenade. You will have the option to cycle along the promenade on cruiser bicycles should you wish to. There are bicycles of all sizes suitable for the whole family. Explore the 11 art installations that tackle subjects ranging from Rhino conservation to the 18 years Nelson Mandela spent on Robben Island. Depending on your energy levels, you will be able to enjoy a gentle cycle along the promenade.
Finish the day with a decadent treat from a favourite local café, the perfect reward after a day of exploring, learning, and playing together.
