Trip Summary

We will cycle along the trails below Table Mountain, overlooking the City before venturing out towards the Constantia Winelands via Newlands.

The Constantia Green Belts are protected areas in the leafy suburb which link to Table Mountain around a historical block house called King’s Blockhouse. This is a well-known landmark amongst trail runners and Mountain Bikers which was built following the first British occupation of the Cape in 1795 to help the Dutch keep watch over the city.

The trail will then pass the University of Cape Town (UCT) before leading onto paths which run adjacent to Devils Peak and Table Mountain. These trails offer stunning views of Lions head, Signal Hill and on clear days right across the Atlantic Ocean to Robben Island.
