Fort Schanskop - After the Jameson Raid in 1896, President Paul Kruger of the “Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek” decided to protect Pretoria by constructing forts in strategic places. Eight forts were to be built initially, but due to a shortage of funds, only four were completed. Germans designed three of the four forts, Schanskop being one this fort was built and handed over to the government on 6 April 1897 just before the Anglo Boer War.
Kruger House - The Kruger Museum is situated inside the The Kruger House, the historical Pretoria residence of the former President of the South African Republic (Transvaal), Paul Kruger
Church Square - The founder of Pretoria, Marthinus Pretorius, determined that the square be used as a market place and church yard. You will also see many famous buildings and statues of this past era
Melrose House – A Victorian mansion where the Peace Treaty at the end of the Anglo Boer war was signed
