Trip Summary

Starting your day with the rising sun, hike up to the top of Lion's Head for a unique perspective on the city before your visit to the top of Table Mountain in the rotating cable car, leaving the crowds to get your bearing of the city from its highest point. Experience a day of contrasts exploring on foot the fascinating stories that tell Cape Town’s history and modern day make up, engaging and overlooked by so many.

Start your day with one of the most well-known hikes in Cape Town: a hike up Lions Head. A winding path that wraps around the cone-shaped peak on Signal Hill offer you an ever-changing 360-degree view over the beautiful 'Mother City' of Cape Town as it is affectionately known by locals. It is a spectacular hike to the top and although steep at times, the stunning views of Cape Town on the way up will keep you motivated to reach the top.

After your active morning start, we will take the cablecar to the neighbouring majestic Table Mountain. Once at the top, we’ll do a short hike away from the crowds whilst our guide brings alive the history of Cape Town combining the elevated view over the city with turn of the century photographs to highlight the changes of the city.

We will enjoy a leisurely light lunch in the heart of the city, prior to continuing our discoveries in the afternoon.

Walk through the most colourful neighbourhood of Bo Kaap, where you will walk along the cobbled stone streets to experience a lively suburb filled with picture perfect brightly coloured houses which date back as early as the seventeenth century.

Head off to the Promenade area of Sea Point to discover it as a true local, with a leisurely cycle along the waters edge to explore 11 art installations that tackle subjects ranging from Rhino conservation to the 18 years Nelson Mandela spent on Robben Island.

Bring this fun day to an end with a Stand Up Paddling session in the secure environment of the V&A Waterfront.
