Lion’s Head is a landmark peak next to Table Mountain rising up from the centre of the city. To reach the top, the hike leads around the peak so you’ll have superb all-round views as you climb. It takes about half an hour to reach the first viewpoint, and then you continue to the summit using chains and ladders. Another half hour or so finds you at the top. Getting down is a quick and easy twenty minutes. It’s great exercise with plenty of rewards - many locals do this hike before work to catch the sunrise.
