Trip Summary

Experience the beauty of the Swartberg mountains as you travel up the world famous, Swartberg Pass. This national monument takes you on a winding journey through the Swartberg, to the summit which offers stunning panoramic views of the Great and Little Karoo. You will then be taken down the mountain to the ‘Ou Tol’ (old toll house) and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at the ‘Berg Kombuys’ which at as the offices for the H.O.P.E Foundation. The Foundation acts as the educational arm of the Attequa Khoi people in the region. From here, guests are able to take a leisurely walk along the Swartberg hiking trail to take in the scenery before heading down to Prince Albert. Here you will enjoy a light lunch and then continue your journey into the Great Karoo, which is filled with diverse succulents. You will then head to Meiringspoort and spend time at the stunning, 60m high waterfall before heading down the mountain pass into De Rust, a small village in the Little Karoo. Here is where you will return to your hotel.
