Welcome to Uganda, The Pearl of Africa.

On arrival we have a meet and greet service awaiting for you. They will assist you through immigration and on to your Aero link Uganda flight to Kihihi Airstrip. The flight takes you 1 hour, upon arrival you will find your professional driver guide waiting for you at the Airfield, who will brief you about your tour in the pearl of Africa covering part of Queen Elizabeth National park (Ishasha Sector) and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Ishasha is only one of the two places in the world where tree-climbing lions are found, the other being in Lake Manyara.  Whilst all lions can climb trees these two prides are the only ones found to spend a majority of their time in trees.  Seeing tree-climbing lions is usually a 50/50 chance.

Ishasha is also home to great population of Topis, not found anywhere else in this National Park. On the river you may spot hippos, Elephants, many other animals and the Ugandan national bird the Crested Crane as you game drive. Later after game drive, you will have lunch at Enjojo Lodge before you begin the 2 hour transfer through typical Ugandan farmlands and countryside as we change ecosystems as we arrive in the Buhoma region of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for your check in, a freshen up, Dinner and overnight at your accommodation in Buhoma.

MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREK

Today you have a unique and privileged experience to trek and meet at close quarters the rare Mountain Gorillas.  There are only around 1063 of these magnificent creatures left in the world with around 1/3 of those in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.  

Early in the morning after breakfast you will be taken to the nearby Buhoma Park Headquarters where you will be educated on the trek, Gorilla behavior and assigned in to groups of suitable fitness. 

The trek can take between 2-6 hours depending on the movements of the Gorillas. The Buhoma sector of Bwindi has the most Gorilla families in Bwindi with a recently habituated troop now accessible.  This is considered one of the great natural animal encounters on the planet.

The rangers will lead you deep into the forest in search for the Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures that will entertain you with performances for about 1 hour once you find them. After the trek return to your lodge for a freshen up, lunch and relax with the lodge facilities. Dinner and Overnight at your accommodation

Have a most enjoyable breakfast regaling your stories and encounter with the Mountain Gorillas.  After breakfast we head off to meet the Batwa. The Batwa are the original inhabitants of these forests,

However today they are a displaced minority since the early 1990’s.  This cultural tour is a re-enactment but a very real one as many members still recall living as forest dwellers and these tours now help them earn income, ensure

Their traditions and skills are practiced as well as pass on these traditions to the next generation. Their bush skills are a delight and their small stature will amaze you.

After the Batwa we return to the lodge for an early quick lunch, check out and your drive guide will transfer you to Kihihi Airstrip for your 14:05 pm flight back to Entebbe International Airport for you connecting flight to your next destination.
