COVID-19: ACTIVITIES & SERVICES

Day 1: Nairobi

Thu. 17 Aug 2017

Arrive Nairobi, Kenya at 20:20 on LH 590 from Frankfurt (International flights - own arrangements). A representative from Willis Protocol and Concierge Services/Swissport will meet you at the bottom of the aircraft steps (or at the jet way) as you get off the plane. You will be assisted with the arrival process of going through immigration, collecting your luggage. You will then be transferred to the Fairview Hotel by our driver, Jackson Mborogonya.

Days 2 - 4: Masai Mara

Fri. 18 Aug 2017 - Sun. 20 Aug 2017

Friday: After breakfast you will be transferred to Wilson airport for check-in at 9:00am for the 10:00am Safarilink schedule flight to Mara North airstrip in the Masai Mara, arriving at 11:00am. You will be met on arrival and transfer to camp.

Days 5 - 7: Northern Serengeti

Mon. 21 Aug 2017 - Wed. 23 Aug 2017

Monday: This morning we fly 40 minutes Northwest to Kisumu for customs outbound, and continue 1 hour and 20 minutes south along the shores of Lake Victoria with its fascinating fishing villages, and the mouth of the Mara River, to Mwanza to clear customs inbound to Tanzania. Then East again for 1 hour back in to the Serengeti. We will be met upon arrival at Kogatende airstrip and game drive to camp.

Days 8 - 11: Mahale Mountain National Park

Thu. 24 Aug 2017 - Sun. 27 Aug 2017

Thursday: Depart from Kogatende on our 1 hour to Tabora to refuel. Airborne again, we fly west for 2 hours until we rejoin the Great Rift Valley and the crystal blue waters of Lake Tanganyika, 4,700 feet deep and the world's longest lake. Landing in the Mahale Mountains in western Tanzania, we take a dhow, and will spend four days at the Greystoke Camp, in elegant comfort right on the lake shore.

Days 12 - 13: Katavi National Park

Mon. 28 Aug 2017 - Tue. 29 Aug 2017

Monday: Departing Mahale, flying low along the rugged shores of Lake Tanganyika and southern Tanzania, we will land at Ikuu near the vast open plains of Katavi, a wild and remote home to some of the best game in Africa. We will be met upon arrival and game drive to the camp.

Days 14 - 16: Lake Tanganyika

Wed. 30 Aug 2017 - Fri. 1 Sep 2017

Wednesday: An hours flight brings us back to the southern end of this great lake for 2 days of relaxing on this 130 acre private island, a paradise in Africa, with 13 private villas, each with its own deck and plunge pool that offer breathtaking, uninterrupted views of Africa's second largest lake

Days 17 - 18: South Luangwa National Park

Sat. 2 Sep 2017 - Sun. 3 Sep 2017

Saturday: We will take off this morning to continue on across the scenic highlands to Mbeya to stretch our legs and clear customs out of Tanzania. Winging south over the hills of northern Zambia, we will follow the western shore of Lake Malawi. Crossing the famed Nyika plateau, we will notice how much this remote countryside has changed, before landing at Mfuwe two hours later for Zambian customs. Here we are met and driven through the local countryside into the South Luangwa Park to Luangwa House.

Days 19 - 21: Lower Zambezi

Mon. 4 Sep 2017 - Wed. 6 Sep 2017

Monday: Transfer approximately one hour from camp to Mfuwe airstrip for departure on our 1 hour 40 minute flight, following the Luangwa River much of the way to the Zambezi. Circling over Zimbabwe as we land at Jeki airstrip, we are met upon arrival and game drive and boat transfer upriver approximately 45 minutes to Sausage Tree Camp.

Day 22: Victoria Falls (Zambia)

Thu. 7 Sep 2017

Thursday: We skim low along the Zambezi river observing the massive flow of this African powerhouse, possibly overflying the Kariba dam wall, and two hours later the spray from Victoria Falls announces its thunderous cauldron. We circle overhead the Falls for unforgettable Views, often crowned with rainbow effects, before landing at Aston's private farm airstrip near Tongabezi at about 11:20.

We will be met by a driver from driver from Tongabezi Love for Africa and transfer to the Royal Livingstone Hotel, approximately 10 minute drive.

Afternoon/Evening – At about 3:45 pm we will head out on the Zambezi river for an evening cruise and sundowner drinks.

*River usage fee of $10 per person has to be paid direct.

Day 23: Victoria Falls (Zambia)

Fri. 8 Sep 2017

Friday: We will be collected at 12:15pm from the Royal Livingstone Jetty to boat up river to have a cordon bleu lunch on Livingstone Island, and plunge into a rock pool on the very lip of the Falls.

Day 24: End of Itinerary

Sat. 9 Sep 2017

Saturday: You will be collected at 10:45am* by your driver from Love for Africa and transfer to Livingstone airport. Depart Livingstone, Zambia at 13:30 on British Airways BA to Johannesburg, South Africa.

Depart Johannesburg at 19:50 on DL 201 to Atlanta.
