Day 1: Okavango Delta

After clearing the entry formalities for Botswana at Maun airport you will be met in the arrivals area and then  you have a short hop flight by light aircraft across to Pom Pom Camp - this flight will start to give you a feeling  of the Delta showing you a wonderful birds eye view of this very dynamic and complex ecosystem with all of its islands, grasslands and waterways. It will really give you a sense of how flat and vast this area is.

After landing you have a short game drive through to the camp where you can settle in and get ready for your first safari activity session.

Days 2 - 3: Okavango Delta

During your time here you will be able to spend time on the waterways of the Delta itself - which could include Boat Cruises or Mekoro Rides in the shallow back waters. Added to this you will also be able to do day and night game drives and if conditions allow bush walks are also a possibility here.

This area and camp are well established as a great all round area for great wildlife and all of the safari activities you associate with the Okavango Delta. A great way to start your Botswana Safari

Day 4: Private Kwara Reserve

Today you fly right across the Okavango Delta. On this flight  there is also a possibility the plane may have to go via other airstrips to drop and collect other guests before arriving at your camp, so you may get to see more of the Delta than you planned.

You will be met at the airstrip and your game viewing in the area starts immediately with a game drive into camp which is not far from the airstrip.

Days 5 - 6: Private Kwara Reserve

During your time here you will be able to do all of those classic safari activities of the Delta which include Mekoro rides or Boat cruises along the various waterways which are great for birds and even catching elephants splashing around in the water, Day and night game drives are the main activities and if conditions allow you may also do a bush walk.

This is a private concession area so off road driving to enhance a sighting is allowed, which can make a sighting extra exciting, like following a pack of African Wild Dogs hunting or being able to follow a pride of lions hunting. The Kwara concession has a really big reputation for quality game viewing which is well deserved and this camp has a great ring side view of the water.
