Day 1: Overnight Travel

Arriving at Maun airport, where you will take your domestic flight on a shared light aircraft to the Okavango Delta, to which you will be met by a representative, and then transferred to the lodge / camp for your first stay overnight, whilst you sit back and enjoy your first day in an amazing country.

Day 2: Okavango Delta

Bronze Package - The day is at your leisure to enjoy, might we recommend a drink at the cocktail bar or maybe enjoy a perfect brunch in the dining room which leads onto an expansive open-air patio.

The Camp Okavango accommodates just 24 guests in spacious safari suites. Each suite is individually situated on a raised teak platform, features en-suite facilities and enjoys sliding glass doors which open on to a private open air viewing deck. Suites are connected by raised walkways providing excellent views over the delta.

For activity purposes, we highly recommend a day or night safari, where you can keep track and get the chance to view the Big 5 in their natural habitat or why not partake in a water-based game viewing activity, where an expert will guide you through the many meandering, reed-lined waterways.

Silver Package - The day is at your leisure to enjoy, 

A classic tented camp located on a private concession in the Okavango Delta, Sanctuary Stanley's Camp offers a varied game viewing experience as well as our unique Living with Elephants activity. Set among ebony and sausage trees, Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp is located on a 260,000 acre private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve.

For activity purposes, we recommend a game drive to see the Big 5 and enjoy the beautiful surroundings that the camp has to offer. There is also a chance to do a walking safari, which professional guides will show you the bush on foot. This is a chance to see the Delta from a different perspective, one that is up close and personal with the surrounding environment.

Gold Package - The day is at your leisure to enjoy,  the ultimate luxury is space, and Abu is located in a 180 000-hectare (445 000-acre) private concession in the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, one of the world’s most important wetland ecosystems. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site and wildlife stronghold of global significance (and home to huge herds of elephant), the Delta was the natural choice for this pioneering elephant conservation project.

The Okavango covers an area of in excess of 15 000km2 (5 800 square miles) and is made up of a mosaic of river channels, lagoons, islands and floodplains.

For activity purposes, we highly recommend the Okavango Delta game-viewing in a variety of pristine habitats. Game drives in the enormous private concession traverse wonderfully varied landscapes and give you the best opportunities to view and photograph birds, predators, and herds of elephant and buffalo at close quarters.

Optional extra scenic flights (by helicopter or light aircraft) are encouraged and can be arranged to give you an enhanced perspective on the make-up of the Okavango, and opportunities to peer into secret islands and lagoons.

Day 3: Moremi Game Reserve

Bronze Package - The next day, you will be transferred to the airstrip, where you will catch your domestic  shared flight on a light aircraft to the Moremi, where you will be mt by a representative and then transferred to the lodge / camp for your stay.

The Moremi is home to the most endangered species of large mammals: the cheetah, white rhinoceros, black rhinoceros, African wild dog and lion. Whilst at the camp, there is ample opportunity to complete the big 5 right in front of your camera and you might even witness the elusive cheetah who like to drag it's kill high up in the tree and eat undisturbed.

If you just want to relax, then you can chill out in your private lodge with decking and just admire the beauty all around and listen to the sounds of nature and it's wilderness doing what it does best. The bar is quite stocked and when it comes down for food, there is a big boma to sit around and enjoy the African hospitality and fresh air.

Silver Package - The day is at your leisure to enjoy,  the former royal hunting reserve of Chief Moremi, in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Wildlife and wilderness are as abundant as action and adrenaline and refinement and relaxation at this remarkable remodelled luxury camp.

For activity purposes, we recommend an amazing game drive to see the Big 5 or a Mokoro excursion, which are local dugout canoes, offer a different perspective of the bush in the company of a highly trained local guide. Each June the whole area around the camp floods and turns the Okavango Delta into a labyrinth of lily-filled lagoons and streams where hippos fight for bathing rights and crocodiles wait for unwary antelope to linger too long over a drink.

Gold Package - The day is at your leisure to enjoy, The camp’s location – in the Mombo Concession on the northern tip of Chief’s Island within Moremi Game Reserve – is considered one of the best areas for wildlife in Africa. The area boasts enormous concentrations of plains game and predators which begin virtually on Mombo’s decks, the surrounding floodplains teeming with game year round.

For activity purposes, we of course have to recommend a game drive for a big opportunity to see the Big 5 and with the introduction of the White Rhino.

Day 4: Moremi Game Reserve

Bronze Package - The day is at leisure to enjoy the lodge and it's activities that are available for you to enjoy.

You will enjoy tracking big game during morning and evening games drives, and boat excursions to discover bustling river life. A boat excursion is a particularly unique, Delta experience. Glide through tall grasses, blooming water lilies and bump into an elephant herd seeking a refreshing splash.

There is of course, some amazing sights for bird watching if you are an avid bird watcher, you might come across the Fish Eagle or vivid Malachite Kingfisher which are often seen, and even the rare, Pel’s Fishing Owl might sometimes makes a little appearance.

Silver Package - For some more activity ideas, maybe a scenic flight over the Delta, these scenic flights involve flying west towards the permanent delta, exposing areas which are unreachable by vehicle or boat and showcasing the sheer enormity of the Okavango Delta. There is the option of the doors being removed for unrestricted photographic opportunities.

Gold Package - For some more activity ideas, there is also a chance for a helicopter flight which surveys all of the amazing and spectacular grounds that this camp was built on. If that doesn't do it for you, why not work out with a little swim with the wilderness surrounding you and enjoy a little pamper time that you definitely deserve.

Day 5: Chobe River Front

Bronze & Silver Package - You will be picked up and transferred to the airstrip, where you will take your domestic flight on a shared light aircraft to Kasane Airport and then transferred to either the Chobe Game Lodge or Chobe Chilwero for your next stay.

Zarafa means “the beloved one” in Arabic and comes from a giraffe that was presented to Charles X of France in 1826 by the Viceroy of Egypt. Today Zarafa, Botswana’s first Relais & Chateaux property, is an exquisite camp located on the private 130,000 hectare Selinda Reserve.

 

Day 6: Chobe River Front

Bronze Package - The day is at leisure to enjoy the lodge and it's activities that are available for you to enjoy.

For activity purposes, no Chobe safari is complete without experiencing the beauty of the Chobe River and its incredible wildlife by boat. The ‘skimmer boats’ seat up to 12 guests in comfortable, movable deck chairs on a flat and stable platform. The river boats are specifically designed to ensure each passenger can take in the magnificent Chobe views in complete comfort from anywhere on the boat.

Alternatively, owing to the location of Chobe Game Lodge inside the Chobe National Park, early-morning game drives set off as soon as the park opens, giving you the best chance of tracking predators while they are still active. This is your big chance to see the Big 5 and admire the natural and breathtaking surroundings.

Silver Package - The day is at leisure, why not settle down and enjoy a spa treatment for you or a loved one, then relax on the terrace, whilst enjoying a little tipple an embracing the camps calmness and African hospitality. If you are hungry, Botswana is well known for its mouth-watering beef so it is no surprise that Executive Chef Phinias's signature dish would be a Botswana beef fillet served with seasonal vegetables.

For activity purposes, the best way to end a day of safari here is sipping on a cocktail while watching an African sunset over the still waters of the Chobe River from the comfort of one of our specially designed riverboats.

If there is a fisher amongst your group, then why not indulge in a fishing excursion, guests will meet up with their guide at reception and drive through to the jetty for their fishing activity. The best time for fishing in the Chobe area is in winter, May, June, July and August. Type of fish guests can expect to catch is Bream and Tiger Fish.

Looking for something for the kids? The Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero welcomes children of all ages and is the ideal choice for a family safari. A fence surrounds the lodge's perimeter and a whole host of children's programs and activities are available to keep the young ones busy.

Gold Package - The day is at leisure, why not enjoy a little spa treatment or if you have some energy to burn off, we recommend the outdoor or indoor gym for your needs. Zarafa maintains the balance between luxury, romance and adventure

For activity purposes, we recommend an early morning and late afternoon/early evening game viewing in open 4×4 vehicles, to get a chance to see the animals in all their glory and observe the difference in their behavior. You might even witness a kill or a chase, which is thrilling in itself to watch. If walking is more your thing, then we recommend a walking safari, which will come with a guide to examine animal tracks and observe animals in a much closer environment.

Day 7: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Bronze Package -  You will be picked up and transferred from Kasane to your next hotel called the Ilala Lodge, where you will be greeted upon arrival and shown where to go next.

Ilala Lodge Hotel is a family-run hotel that offers luxury and comfort in the heart of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Nestled in attractive gardens, the well-appointed hotel is a mere eight-minute walk from Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Ilala Lodge Hotel is ideally located and it is very easy for guests to access all the historical sites, restaurants and activities available in Victoria Falls.

Silver Package -  You will be picked up and transferred from Chobe Chilwero to your Livingstone lodge, where you will be greeted upon arrival and shown where to go next.

Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma is built on a dramatic bend of the Zambezi River in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, twelve kilometres upstream from the world-famous Victoria Falls. If it is Colonial grandeur you are looking for Victoria Falls Hotel is the perfect place. On arrival at the Victoria Falls Hotel you are greeted by the friendly staff. As you enter the building your senses are splashed with grand splendour as rich teak furnishings and century old picture frames take you back in time to the early 19th Century. The Hotel is steeped in history as it was originally built in 1904 as accommodation for the workers building the Victoria Falls Bridge.

Day 8: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

For activity purposes,  we suggest the ra-Ikane river cruise, the boats are full of old world charm, setting a romantic and intimate scene whilst you sit back, relax and take in the surrounding views.

If you are an adrenaline junky, how about The most popular of these is adrenaline-filled activities which is White Water Rafting in the rapids below Victoria Falls.

If you are feeling adventurous, what about Devils Pool - The Devil’s Pool in Victoria Falls is known as the world’s ultimate infinity pool. Located on the edge of the Victoria Falls, the natural rock walls have created a barrier, preventing swimmers from being carried over the edge of the thundering falls.

Silver Package - The day is at leisure to enjoy the lodge and it's activities that are available for you to enjoy. If staying at the hotel is more your thing, then why not enjoy dining or a little tipple on an elevated level to enjoy the best the views.

For activity purposes, We recommend an amazing game drive in the park, which has elephants, impala, giraffe, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, zebra in large numbers and an exciting array of birds, including some Southern African specials like Peters Finfoot. As an addition, could be a Canoe trip on the Zambezi River, the canoeing trip can either be done in the morning or afternoon, the activity will start from the lodge and can be combined with either a game drive or a boat cruise.

Interested in community assistance or philanthropic work, the local school & village tour is recommended, the Nakatindi village is located six kilometres from Livingstone and five kilometres from Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma. Through Sanctuary Retreats Philanthropy, we sponsor various projects aimed at improving education, conservation, health and enterprise in the village.

For activity purposes, if ypu are looking t get involved in culture, then we recommend the Boma Dinner & Drum Show, On arrival at the boma you will be presented with a traditional robe to get you into the mood. Prepare to be immersed in the vibrant atmosphere. Aromas of local dishes and game meat on the barbeque fill the restaurant. For something fun: Eating a dried Mopane Worm has become a tradition at the Boma. If you are brave enough to eat one you will receive a certificate to prove it.

If that's not your thing, how about exploring the grounds from above via a Helicopter,  you will board the helicopter and the excitement begins. After a smooth take off you will make your way towards the Victoria Falls. The excitement grows as you approach the falls. You can only truly appreciate the sheer magnitude of the Victoria Falls from a helicopter flight. The helicopter will complete a series of clockwise and anti clockwise turns.

Looking to learn  more about conservation? Then the Wildlife Conservation Safari is for you, The Conservation safari starts off with a presentation by a member of the Victoria Falls Anti Poaching Unit (VFAPU). You are given the full background and history of the unit and are able to learn about many fascinating aspects involved in the unit’s operations, the challenges faced and the huge successes VFAPU has achieved to date.

Following on from this, you are taken for a field trip into the Zambezi National Park where you are tasked to record game sightings, identify spoor, patrol and sweep for wire snares and generally visit areas to investigate for any signs of poaching.

Day 9: Overnight Travel

Bronze & Gold Package -  Thus coming to an end of your amazing journeys, you will be picked up and transferred to Victoria Falls Airport, to catch your flight back home.

Silver Package -  Thus coming to an end of your amazing journeys, you will be picked up and transferred to Livingstone Airport for your onward flight and journey
