Day 1: Kigoma Airport to Gombe Stream National Park – Afternoon Chimpanzee Trekking Adventure

Day 2: Gombe Stream National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking, Kakombe Waterfalls & Jane's Peak

After an early breakfast at 08:00hrs, set out for another exhilarating chimpanzee trekking adventure in the lush tropical forests of Gombe Stream National Park. With the guidance of expert trackers, you’ll follow the movements of the habituated chimpanzee families, observing their social interactions, feeding habits, and forest behaviours up close—a rare and humbling experience in one of Tanzania’s most celebrated primate habitats.

Following your trek, continue on to visit the beautiful Kakombe Waterfalls, one of the park’s natural highlights. Surrounded by verdant vegetation and echoing birdcalls, the falls offer a peaceful moment to relax and take in the unique beauty of the forest.

If time and energy allow, you may also hike to Jane’s Peak, a scenic lookout named after Dr. Jane Goodall. From this vantage point, enjoy sweeping panoramic views of Gombe’s forest canopy and the shimmering waters of Lake Tanganyika below.

You’ll also visit the scenic Mkenge Waterfall, a hidden gem deep within the forest that showcases the park’s natural beauty beyond its famed chimpanzees.

Return to Kasakera Camp for lunch before boarding your boat for the journey back across Lake Tanganyika to Kigoma town.
