Depart from Cape Town and travel at an easy pace along the iconic Route 62. The drive takes only five hours but you will take the day to explore the gorgeous route and stop along the way. Your guide will supply recommendations, including lunch stop recommendations, according to the pace and stops you choose. Your journey ends in Oudtshoorn, in the Karoo, notable for its ostrich farming industry. Check into your hotel and rest of the day is at your own leisure.

Today you explore South Africa’s oldest tourist attraction, the Cango Caves, located in the foothills of the Swartberg Mountain range - the first tour was conducted here in 1891. Situated in a limestone ridge (Precambrian), its dripstone caves, massive halls and towering limestone formations in a variety of colours, makes the Cango Caves one of the Seven Wonders of Southern Africa. You will then tour High Gate Ostrich Farm's main yard and farmlands. You will also interact with the world’s largest bird, with the largest eggs and most beautiful feathers and eyes before lunch. You end your journey today in The Crags near Plettenberg Bay. Two hours of that three-hour journey is spent on the Garden Route, arguably one of the world’s most spectacular drives. Please feel free to ask your guide to pause along the way. You will be stopping in Knysna and your guide will give you an orientation tour before dinner on the water in Knysna after which you will be taken to check-in at your hotel.

After breakfast, travel to the lagoon side of Knysna to go on the most beautiful walk in the world - the Featherbed Nature Reserve Eco-Experience which includes a ferry trip on Knysna Lagoon and lunch under a canopy of Milkwood trees. After lunch, depart for the Elephant Sanctuary The Crags, where you will be treated to the once in a lifetime meet and greet experience. You will be able to walk, touch, feed and take photographs with these gentle giants. You will be transferred to your nearby hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure.

The final leg of your journey completes the last portion of the Garden Route and takes about three hours to the friendly city of Port Elizabeth. However, you will want to pause at the majestic Tsitsikamma National Park and walk along the suspension bridge which spans Storms River mouth gorge. Your guide will recommend lunch stops. Drop-off in Port Elizabeth will be by 5pm, either at the airport or your hotel.
