After clearing the entry formalities you will be met in the arrivals hall and then transferred to the Radisson. Depending on your time of arrival you may want to have a tour of Brazzaville to see the Congo River with views over to Kinshasha the capital of DRC, and the Mausoleum to Count deBrazza, all fascinating.
You will have a transfer back to the airport for the flight to Odzala which leaves at 1pm and arrives there 3pm. You then have a 3 hour road transfer into the jungle to your first camp at Lango. This will give you a great introduction to this vast jungle and all its complexities.
Your first Gorilla trek this morning which will be done after breakfast and a brief explanation of dos and donts when you are with the gorillas. You return to camp for lunch and then you could spend the afternoon with a walk into the forest to look for birds and some of the other creatures and then end with sundowners on the River.
Another Gorilla trek this morning and this time you will be with researchers you will be able to get a much deeper understanding of these amazing primates and how they spend their day and interact with one another and their environment.
In the evening it will be possible to do a night walk into the forest to see a whole new world of creatures that emerge, a fascinating activity to do.
You move camp today after breakfast - during the drive you will pass through the village of Mboma where you can see the small market and village life in this very remote area and then into camp for lunch. This afternoon you will have a wonderful cruise along the river. Keep a look out for the Forest Elephant and Forest Buffalo that are quite common here.
Being around here is a complete contrast in that the focus is around the Bai - an open area in the forest that often has mineral seeps which attract a variety of animals and birds to feed and eat the mineral extracts. Around here you also have more open savanna areas - this is where you could look for Forest Elephants and Forest Buffalo that come into this area.
Another full day to enjoy the Lango Bai either by just sitting and watching or you can go for a walk around the area to take in all the variety in this amazing ecosystem. Make sure you have some quick drying clothes as the walks will have you walking through water at times.
Today you travel back to Mboko Camp with a walk across the Bai and then game drive to the camp where you will have lunch and then a nice relaxing cruise on the Lekoli River before dinner at camp.
Your flight leaves Mboko today at 9am and will arrive back in Brazzaville for 11am where you can either connect straight on or overnight again in Brazzaville.
