Day 1: Kigali

 Arrive at Kigali airport to a VIP Meet & Greet. Your private guide will assist with fast track and VISA  assistance.

With current Rwandan policy clients are required to have a negative PCR test before arrival and get an extra test after arrival in Kigali. The result of the test will be known within 24 hours.

If you have been vaccinated then there is no need to quarantine while waiting for your test results.

Transfer to your hotel, Kigali Serena Hotel, with a pre arranged early check in. 

After breakfast you are welcome to catch up on some sleep. The other option is to head out into the city to explore.

Our guide will be ready to take you at any time.

  

Day 2: Volcanoes National Park

Morning breakfast and check out.

Your private guide will meet you at the hotel. You will travel in your own private vehicle and visit the  Kigali Genocide Memorial where you will learn more history about Rwanda (including audio-guide and flowers to lay at the burial site to pay respect to the victims of the genocide at the memorial)

After the memorial visit we will do a brief city tour before heading for the Volcanoes National Park. 

En route you will immediately feel that you are in the country of 1000 Hills. Along the way you will see different coffee plantations, banana plantations and busy daily lifestyle of Rwandan local people. 

 Check in and lunch at your lodge.

 Meet Gorilla Doctor: Late afternoon you will have a meeting with the Gorilla doctors at your lodge. They will brief you about how they take care of primates in East Africa and work in  conservation.

Day 3: Volcanoes National Park

Gorilla Trek

Early morning Breakfast then transfer to park headquarters for a briefing to prepare for your gorilla trek.

 Hike with local ranger to find the gorilla family and spent 1 hour with them.

This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We offer a free porter per person who will assist you with your daypack, and give you a hand when the path is slippery, steep, or irregular. The porters are from the local community and registered by the Rwanda Wildlife Authority, in this way we also support the local community.

After the trek we head back to the lodge for lunch and afternoon at leisure.

Day 4: End of Itinerary

Golden monkey tracking and transfer back to Kigali.

In the morning, you will be transferred to a part of the park where the golden monkeys are. You will do a brief trek to the monkeys and experience this unique sighting. This activity will be depend on timing.  

On return, you will transfer back to Kigali.

You will have a day room at your disposal at Kigali Serena Hotel.

After dinner you will be transferred to the airport in time for your return flight home.
