After clearing the entry formalities into Botswana you will met in the arrivals hall and then you have short flight out over the Delta from Maun to your first camp. When you arrive on the airstrip you will be met by your guide and then you have a shirt game drive transfer through to the camp, so your safari starts from the airstrip and even on the flight in.

While you are here you will be able to explore this very productive area of the Okavango Delta either on water or land. There are power boats specially adapted to cruise through the many channels and lagoons of the Delta so you can get a feeling of the vastness of this amazing area, and then on land you will be doing game drives both early morning and afternoon to explore the woodland areas, the open grasslands and along the edges of the water ways as well. Lots to do here and excellent sightings of the big predators and antelope species with herds of buffalo and elephant all common.

You fly today further South and right into the Delta - So you will get a birds eye view of this incredible inland delta, the world's largest, and the many islands and channels that flow into the Kalahari Sands.
The Airstrip is right next to the camp but you will be moved to camp by traditional mekoro a nice way to start your experience deep in the Delta.

Your time here at Delta Camp is very laid back and all activities are either on a traditional mekoro or bush walks on the Islands in front of camp or the Oddballs Island itself. There are always elephants, buffalo, hippo, lechwe and water buck around the area and the predators like lion, hyena and leopard are seen and herd on your walks and from camp. There are no game drives available here - a genuine delta safari experience.

Today you leave this wet and verdant environment to travel to the other extreme in the Kalahari Desert. The flight is about 90 mins in a light aircraft and then you have a game drive over to the camp where you can settle in and look out over these vast ancient views to the horizon. This is what the Okavango Delta would look like if it dried up!

This time of year is exceptional to see these dry areas - when the rains come they spring into life and herds of zebra and wildebeest pour into the area from the wetter areas further north of Chobe. There are also many desert adapted animals like Oryx and Springbok resident here along with some interesting smaller creatures like Bat Eared fox, Brown Hyena and a highlight the Meerkats - you can spend time with a family of them here using you as a look out post! and Brown Hyena.
Quad biking and walks with the San Bushman are also extra activities all possible here to get the most out of this extraordinary environment.

Your departure today would be timed to suit your International connections out of Maun.
