Day 1: Cape Town

After arrival at the airport Cape Town you will be welcomed by a local representative of AAA Travel who will give you first important information and assist with the pick-up of your rental car. When you arrive at your comfortable accommodation you have time time to relax.

  

Day 2: Cape Town

Today you will discover the wonderful Cape Peninsula. You will drive via the coastal road to Hout Bay where you have the option to make a boat cruise to seal island. Afterwards you continue your way along the scenic Chapman's Peak which will lead you to  Cape Point and the penguins at Boulders Beach.

For the active person, you have the option in Simons Town of booking a guided kayaking tour to see the penguins from the seaside. (ca. 2 hours) Or discover the Cape Point on a guided bicycle tour and enjoy the nature and small untouched bays in the nature reserve (half day or full day possible).

Day 3: Cape Town

Start the morning with a visit of Table Mountain to enjoy a stunning view over the city, ocean and wonderful surrounding. 

Afterwards we recommend to have a nice walk along the famous Waterfront or get some souvenirs at Greenmarket Square.  If you just want to relax visit one of the small bays around Cape Town.

For the active person there are a lot of options to fill the day with interesting activities, eg. guided hike up Table Mountain, sunset boat cruise, cooking class in Bo-Kaap, chocolate-, gin-, or beer tasting etc.

Day 4: Paternoster

After breakfast you will drive further up the West Coast to the idyllic fisher town Paternoster. Make a detour via Langebaan, the Langebaan Lagoon is known as the jewel of the West Coast and enjoys almost year-round sunshine and boasts azure waters and unsurpassed natural beauty.

The peaceful beach in Paternoster invites you for a long walk which you can end with a sundowner at the beach restaurant.

 

Day 5: Paternoster

Today you can just relax and enjoy the undisturbed atmosphere with more walks on the endless beach. Paternoster also offers different trails if you feel like having an active day.

A must in Paternoster is lunch or dinner at the Noisy Oyster, where you can get a taste of fresh mussels, oysters and other delicacies (you should give them a call ahead to find out if they are open and to make a reservation, it's a very popular restaurant). 

 

Day 6: Clanwilliam

From Paternoster you drive via Veldrif and Piketberg  back to the N7.  You will follow this road over the scenic Piekenierskloof Pass into the Cederberg area.

This area is famous for its citrus orchards and when the fruit trees are in bloom the air is perfumed with their scent. Stop off at one of the many farmstalls along the way and buy yourself oranges fresh from the farm. They are delicious!

Day 7: Clanwilliam

Enjoy a day exploring the picturesque town of Clanwilliam home of the rooibos tea and the "veldskoene".  There is a "veldskoene" factory in town called Strassbergers shoes that has been in existence since 1954.

Day 8: Namaqualand

It might not be easy to leave the Cederberg behind but your next destination is also a wonderful highlight. Naries Namaqua is a beautiful & romantic hideaway on the edge of the Spektakelberg between Springbok and Kleinzee. Enjoy this unique experience amid spectacular scenery. 

Day 9: Namaqualand

The day offers you a lot of exciting activities, the lodge is well positioned for exploring the greater Namakwa Region from the Richtersveld in the north to the shipwrecks in the west, and during the wild-flower season (August / September), they are right where the action is.

 

Day 10: End of Itinerary

Unfortunately it is time to say goodbye to South Africa, and cross the border into Namibia.
