Days 1 - 2: NamibRand Nature Reserve

Arrive at Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako International Airport and fly to the NamibRand Nature Reserve 

Namibia is aw-inspringly impressive from all angles but there is something about viewing the landscapes from the Sky in a small plane that is magical. 

Depart from Windhoek with your pilot to Kwessi Dunes.  As you near the reserve the breathtaking landscape of blood-red dunes stretches as far as the eye can see. 

Kwessi Dunes is a classic canvas and thatch lodge in the hear of the striking NamibRand Nature Reserve offering an escape from the modern world and chance to reconnect with the wild over the next two days.   Visit the sand dunes at Sossusvlei, enjoy game drives, nature walks and quad bike trips in the private Reserve.  

Days 3 - 4: Hoanib River

Depart this morning after breakfast by lite aircraft for a flight towards the Atlantic Coast veering northwards, pass the Eduard Bohlen one of the most famous shipwrecks on the coastline that came adrift in 191.  Also see Conception Bay and Sandwich Harbour. 

Land in Swakopmund for  a seafood lunch onth beach and brief tour of the quaint town before re-boarding the plane and continuing north.  This dramatic coastline was nicknamed the "gates to hell" by Portuguese sailors who had to navigate the powerful currents in their quest to round the Cape of Good Hope.  The Atlantic Oceans power is visible from the air as it hits the rocky coastline.  See glimpses of shipwrecks still visible a stark reminder of natures power. Travel inward toward the Hoanib Valley and the incredible vastness of this country. 

Arrive t Hoanib Valley Camp and elegant tented camp located  amongst the towering mountains and sand dunes of north-western Namibia. 

For the next two days take morning and afternoon desert game drives in search for desert adapted giraffe, elephant, lion and rhino.  Giraffe research is conducted in the area as you take nature walks through the dry riverbeds and dunes.  Enjoy a morning or afternoon with the local Himba Communities. 

Days 5 - 6: Skeleton Coast

Depart today by vehcile for a drive to the Skeleton Coast.  This full day journey is one of the most spectacular drives on the continent as you travel along the ephemeral HOanib River with its home to large herds of elephant.  Follow the course of the Hoarusib River as dry plains give way to clay-baked landscape and the salty se breeze picks up turning the landscape to white sand dunes. 

Arrive at  the award winning Shipwreck lodge desibned to resemble the shipwrecks that line the hauntingly beautiful Skeleton Coast. 

Over the next two days enjoy rips to the MOwe Bay seal colony including stops at the Suiderkus and Karimona shipwrecks, Westies diamond mine and the remains of the Ventura Bomber.  Enjoy sundowner drives to the roaring dunes and full day 4 x 4 Hoarusib River excursions including the Clay Castles.  Quad biking, beach lunches and sand boarding are also available. 

Day 7: Etosha Heights Private Reserve

Depart by lite aircraft today back to Windhoek for your international departure

The next two days are all about wildlife-watching. The reserves offers unspoiled landscapes, tranquility and solitude.  Drive through the animal-dotted plains of the reserve, keeping your eyes peeled for white rhino, and head out on foot for a taste of the smaller flora and fauna.

 

Day 8: Etosha Heights Private Reserve

Day 9: End of Itinerary

 

On the last morning, there’s time for a hearty breakfast at camp before your flight back down the Atlantic Coast to Windhoek for departure.
