Days 1 - 3: Masai Mara National Reserve

  • On your arrival one of our representatives will be ready to greet you as you exit the arrivals terminal at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Transfer across town, skirting the perimeter of the Nairobi National Park as you make your way towards Wilson Airport. Connect with your domestic flight to the Masai Mara.
  • On arrival at Ol Kiombo Airstrip, a guide from Rekero Camp will be on hand to meet you and welcome you to the area. The short drive to camp offers the opportunity to provide some background to the reserve and an informative briefing on the surrounding region. After arriving at camp, there’s time to settle in and acclimatise to your new surroundings before sitting down to lunch on the deck overlooking the Talek River.
  • In the mid-afternoon, tea and coffee are served, accompanied by freshly baked cake to keep your appetite contented ahead of an exciting afternoon game drive. Set out to explore the open plains or follow the river in search of a crossing if the Migration is nearby, or explore the savannah plains and forests in search of the resident game. Your guide will select an appropriate vantage point as the sun slowly slides into the horizon to enjoy the last rays and savour a favourite sundowner beverage. Return to camp to freshen up before enjoying a delicious dinner under the sparkling canvas of African stars.
  • Two full days are set aside here to enjoy activities as included in your stay
  • Morning safaris usually start early to get into the bush when the sun rises, and animals are most active in the cooler temperatures. You will receive a wake-up call at the pre-arranged time, with a hot drink of choice delivered to your tent for you to enjoy while listening to the dawn chorus of birds. Set off on a morning drive, perhaps taking a picnic breakfast from camp to enjoy at a suitable spot once the sun is up. In the late morning, you will return to camp to freshen up before having lunch under the trees while listening to the pods of hippo grunting in the river below.
  • After lunch, you can relax on your spacious daybed with a book or on the deck with binoculars to watch the action at the river in front of camp. As the temperature drops, tea and coffee are served in the lounge with various freshly baked treats before departing for an afternoon game drive. The vehicle fridge will have your choice of cold beverages, which you can enjoy as the sun sets before returning to camp for a chat beside the crackling fire and a delicious dinner beneath the Southern Cross.

Included

  • Full board accommodation, all house drinks (except champagne), game drives, transfers to/from Ol Kiombo airstrip and to/from Rekero Camp, limited laundry service.

Excluded

  • Balloon safaris, transfers other than to/from nearest airstrip, flying doctors/medical evacuation insurance, gratuities, items of personal nature, additional lunch (picnic or in house)

Days 4 - 6: Mara Naboisho Conservancy

  • You’ll have a chance to start the day off slowly this morning. Enjoy breakfast at your camp before heading to Mara Naboisho Conservancy. As you drive, take in the magnificent and tranquil scenery and wildlife. You’ll arrive at Naboisho Camp in the late morning, where you can settle in before having lunch on the lawn in front of the lounge. After lunch, you can relax by the pool, lounge in the central area, or watch animals from your tent balcony.
  • In the afternoon, you’ll go on a game drive to explore the conservancy and its vast array of resident wildlife. Unlike other areas, in the conservancy, you don’t need to return to camp before dark, so you can take your time to enjoy the sunset and the sounds of nature, enjoying a night drive with spotlight on the way back to camp. Freshen up and meet other guests around the campfire before dinner, sharing stories about your adventures before enjoying a delicious lantern-lit three-course meal.
  • You have two full days set aside to enjoy exciting activities and excursions as included in your stay
  • While morning and afternoon game drives remain an option from Naboisho Camp, there is also the chance to head out on foot for a different perspective on the surrounding bush. Walking safaris are most pleasant during the crisper morning hours before the temperature begins to climb and can be tailored in length to suit the group’s requirements. The emphasis of the experience shifts the focus away from the big game towards the immediate environment underfoot, birdlife, flora, and the tracking of spoor.
  • An excursion to a neighbouring Maasai community allows the opportunity for insight into a very different culture and way of life. In the evening, under the cover of darkness, head out for a night game drive in search of some rare and shy nocturnal species. The experience of sitting in the bush in complete darkness with only the sounds of the night to keep you company will likely be one of your most lasting memories. Always remember to glance to the heavens to soak up the vastness of the Milky Way.

Included

  • Full board accommodation, conservancy bednight fee, all house drinks (except premium wines and champagne), game drives, night drives, walking safaris, transfers to/from nearest airstrip and to/from Naboisho Camp & limited laundry service.

Excluded

  • Cultural visits, fly camping* (min. 2 pax, min. age is 12 yrs, depending on weather), balloon safaris, spa treatments, transfers other than to/from nearest airstrip or Naboisho Camp, flying doctors/medical evacuation insurance, gratuities, items of personal nature, additional lunch (picnic or in house)

Day 7: End of Itinerary

  • After breakfast at the camp, you must pack your bags and bid farewell to a slice of paradise as you set out towards Ol Seki Airstrip. From the airstrip, you will take a flight to Wilson Airport, where your driver will be waiting to take you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. This airport will serve as your gateway to your next destination.
