Murakaza neza mu Rwanda! (Welcome to Rwanda!)
On arrival at the airport once you have cleared immigration, collect your bags and continue via customs to the arrivals hall. Here you are met by your driver/ guide. Time permitting depart on a city tour (Kigali) including a visit to the Genocide Memorial Centre - Gisozi & others.
Later today, arrive at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge and spend two nights including all meals.
Please note that subject to your arrival time , it may be necessary to spend an extra night in Kigali.
After breakfast, you will depart for the Headquarters of the Park where your driver-guide will assist with your group allocation. You will meet your ranger guide(s) for a briefing about the greatest animal experience ever!
Your driver guide will transfer you to the slopes of one of the Virunga volcanoes for your trekking.
After the trekking, and time permitting, have lunch at Ruhengeri and an excursion to explore the beautiful lakes in the region (Lake Bulera & Ruhondo).
Visit to Lake Bulera & Ruhondo (Time permitting)
After breakfast, head to the headquarters for your second trek to a different gorilla group. If you love to hike and enjoy a great sense of achievement, please let your guide know so that he can assist in getting the correct group for you.
After the trekking, visit of the Iby'Iwacu traditional village (a community based tourism project where the local community displays the traditional ways of living). As you travel back to Kigali there will be some stops along the way.
Spend one night at Flame Tree Cottages including breakfast.
Today after breakfast please check out. If you did not have time on the arrival day for a Kigali City tour or a visit to the genocide museum, you can do this today (time permitting).
Transfer to Kigali Airport to check in for your departure flight.
