Arrive in Cape Town for 4 nights 

On arrival at Cape Town Airport you are met and transferred to your V&A Waterfront hotel for your 4 night stay. The rest of day is at leisure.

You begin with a journey by the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for a panoramic view of the Cape Peninsula. Afterwards you travel into the city where you enjoy some of the sights of the city: the Castle of Good Hope, a stroll in Company gardens, the Bo-Kaap quarter and Greenmarket square, 

OPTIONAL VARIATIONS & EXTENSIONS

1) Make this a full-day tour so that you have time to enjoy a 2 hour walk on Table Mountain or even the abseiling activity at the top. Then you have more time to explore the stories, culture and museums of the city as well. 

2) Combine this tour with a boat ride out to Robben Island

Today is a full tour of the beautiful Cape Peninsula tour. It includes a scenic coastal drive along Chapmans Peak; the Cape of Good Hope National Park and Cape Point; viewing the Penguins at Boulders Bay; Simon’s Town historical naval base and ends with the magnificent Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

VARIATIONS

Enjoy the scenic drive along the coast, via Chapmans Peak by classic 1930s side car, with the wind in your hair and beautiful views all around you. (2 hours)

Or leave Kirstenbosch gardens to visit on another day and spend the afternoon wine-tasting at a couple of the Constantia wine estates. 

You enjoy a scenic tour of the Cape Winelands today. A combination of the favourable effects of the two major ocean currents meeting off the Cape makes the climate in the area perfect for the acres of vineyards.  Visit a couple of wine estates, enjoy a cellar tour, explore Franschhoek and Stellenbosch and have a lovely lunch at a wine estate (extra).

VARIATIONS

This tour can be adapted to focus much more on the wine estates with a specialist wine guide. 

Or you can choose to be more active, swapping out some of your time in the vehicle with a cycle ride through the wine estates. These options vary from easy to more challenging depending on your fitness levels, 

Your guide for the Garden Route section collects you from De Hoop and you enjoy a scenic touring/transfer via the Route 62 to the Little Karoo.

Travel to Plettenberg Bay,  for 2 nights

Today you spend the morning visiting  some of the other sights of the area seeing the Swartberg Pass or visiting an ostrich farm. Then you head over the Outeniqua Mountains and take a scenic lakeside drive to Plettenberg Bay. En route you may like to stop at Robberg Nature Reserve to take in the views or enjoy a short walk.

You head to Knysna, an attractive little town on the edge of the glorious Knysna lagoon, backed by the magical Knysna forest with its great yellowwood trees and massive ferns. You take a boat cruise across the Knysna Lagoon to Featherbed Nature Reserve where you have a delicious lunch under the milkwood trees. From here you take by 4×4 ride up to the top of the reserve where you enjoy a 2.2 km guided walk to a viewpoint. You then head down to the lagoon through the reserve.

In the afternoon you may enjoy a scenic drive or walk in Knysna Forest.

3 nights on safari in Timbavati Game Reserve, Greater Kruger Park

You fly from George airport to Johannesburg and onto Hoedspruit Airport. Here you are collected and enjoy a big five safari in the Timbavati Game Reserve for 3 nights on safari.

Your experienced game ranger and local Shangaan tracker are keen to share with you their extensive knowledge and love of the African bush. The days starts with an early morning game drive, then after brunch you have some time to relax around the lodge or enjoy a dip in the plunge pool. During the afternoon game drive you stop for sundowners whilst watching the sun set over the awe-inspiring wilderness before enjoying a night drive.
