At the tip of the Cape Peninsula you will find Cape Point within the Table Mountain National Park. The expansive Table Mountain National Park stretches from Signal Hill and Table Mountain in the north to Cape Point in the south and encompasses the seas and coastline of the peninsula.  Within Cape Point the treacherous cliffs forming the most south-western tip of Africa are some of the highest in the world and mark the spot where the cold Beguela current on the West coast and the warm Agulhas current on the East coast merge.  Inside the reserve you will find a variety of animals including buck, baboons and Cape Mountain Zebra as well as over 250 species of birds and indigenous flora that is found nowhere else in the world.

Boulders Penguin Colony is home to a colony of the vulnerable African Penguin. Wooden walkways allow visitors to view the penguins in their natural habitat and there is also a new information center. By 1982 there were only two breeding pairs remaining. Incredible conservation efforts have grown the Boulders colony to over 3,000 birds in recent years. Don’t forget your towels as you can also take a swim with the penguins!

He has visited Norway many times where he has had lectures with the likes of Einar Lunde and others. He has also attended the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo.

Robben Island is a mere 12 Kilometres from Cape Town and ferries depart from Nelson Mandela Gateway in the V&A Waterfront.  Robben Island has a very long and interesting history.  For nearly 400 years, Robben Island, was a place of banishment, exile, isolation and imprisonment and now it is a museum that contributes to the socio-economic development and transformation of the South African society and enrich humanity. Nelson Mandela spent many years on the island imprisoned.

The tour takes approximal 4 hours.

After Robben Island, Yasien will take you to Bo Kaap. The vibrant area of the Bo-Kaap, formerly known as the Malay Quarter, is the oldest residential area in Cape Town. With its brilliantly coloured homes and cobbled streets, it’s also one of the most photographed areas in the Mother City. Lunch will be served at Biesmiellah restaurant for a local treat.

You will end off at District Six Museum. District Six is one of Cape Town’s most politically and historically important suburbs. It’s also known as Zonnebloem, or sometimes the East City. It has a turbulent history, which reached a pinnacle in the 70’s and 80’s. Prior to the 70’s, it was a vibrant mixed race community. In 1970 District Six was renamed “Zonnebloem” and deemed a “white area”, and the residents were forcibly removed.
