Day 2: Montevideo

Breakfast and pick up for the Montevideo City Tour. 

Montevideo City Tour

You will visit Plaza Independencia where the Puerta de la Ciudadela, the Solís Theater, the Executive Tower, the Estévez Palace, the Salvo Palace and the monument to the Uruguayan hero José Gervasio Artigas are located. You will walk part of the main avenue (18 de Julio), and then head towards the Legislative Palace (Parliament). You will visit the Montevideo Agricultural Market, which operates inside a historic building and offers a wide variety of native products. José Batlle y Ordoñez Park will be the next stop on the tour, from where we will see the Centenario Stadium and the Carreta Monument; to continue then towards the Rambla de Pocitos where we will stop at the “Montevideo” Sign. At the end of the walk we will return to the hotel.
