You will also do boat cruises on the Nile River which is fantastic with a lot going on both with wildlife but also beautiful scenery with the actual Murchison Falls and also where the River spreads out into a delta area before entering Lake Albert which is an excellent place to look for many species of waterbirds, a highlight here being the rare Shoebill Stork.

Activities and Services

Days 5 - 6: Kibale Forest National Park

Your next destination is Kibale Forest, probably one of the best places in Africa to track and watch Chimpanzees and a host of other primate species that live in this forest. Along with the 13 species of primates that are here there is an extensive bird list as well so you will always have something to look at wherever you go here. After spending the morning out looking for the Chimps you will come back for lunch and a rest, and then go and have a walk around the Bugodi Swamp. This area is a community tourism project which has raised walkways through the papyrus and wetland areas - a favorite here is the Great Blue Turaco, a really beautiful large bird and keep an eye out for the rare Sitatunga Antelope along with a range of smaller primates.

Days 7 - 8: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

You leave Kibale and travel further South to reach the mountainous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.  It is a twisty road here but you will be able to stop for a packed lunch along the way as you have no time pressure.

In the morning you will be taken to the entrance of the park and the ranger station. Here you will be debriefed about the do's and dont's of Gorilla trekking and how to behave around the Gorillas. Then off you go with your ranger to trek the family that has been allocated to you.  This is an amazing experience which you will never forget when you get to meet your family of gorillas as they move through the forest.

You will have one hour to spend with the family which flashes past especially if you lots of youngsters who are always the most active and fun to watch. You return to the Lodge for a well earned rest and relax before your journey home in the morning.
