Day 1: Mawimbi Family Adventure (Kafue National Park )
Check-In
When you arrive at Mawimbi Bush Camp you will be received with refreshments and lunch. After you have settled in, your guide will brief you on safety and you will get to plan your activities together.
Later in the afternoon, you can join the chef in preparing for dinner and explore the unique techniques of cooking in the bush with no electricity. You will then relax and listen to the sounds of nature and enjoy your dinner before you call it a night ahead of an exciting eventful day to come.
- Canoeing option is only available for children 12 and parents are welcome to join the fun
- Only children over 16 will be allowed to learn to drive a Game drive vehicle
- All activities are tailor-made to suit the family and activities are subject to change at the discretion of the guide
Day 2: Mawimbi Family Adventure
At the crack of dawn you will get your wake up call and your full day of activities begins. You will start the day with a Walking Safari, the best way to get close to nature. Our professional guide will teach you about, animals, birds, insects, trees and how to track animals by foot and how to recognize animal spoor.
Breakfast will be served.
Time to be creative: Your guide will introduce you to bush craft and art. You will explore the camp for all your materials and with natural products you will create decorative pieces, bows & arrows and even jewellery depending on what your imaginative mind will find.
Lunch is served.
In the afternoon the parents get to enjoy the tranquility of the camp, read a book or even enjoy a siesta as the children are well entertained by the Mawimbi Team.
After tea/coffee, the family will enjoy an afternoon game-drive and upon their return, the chef will do with extra hands in the kitchen. The children will get to partake in a different cooking technique and experience. This will give them a lesson in team work and sustainability of natural resources by cooking on the fire or bush oven. As dinner is prepared the craft pieces from their days work will be used to decorate the table for that special touch.

Campfire Fun: Before calling it a night the family will enjoy a campfire and share their days memories and some traditional African folk tales.

Day 3: Mawimbi Family Adventure
Walking Safari: At the crack of dawn we waste no time and interact with nature and test our knowledge from the lessons from the Walking Safari.
Breakfast is served
As the parents relax and enjoy the camp, the guides together with the children go fishing in the Kafue River. The children will be taught how to prepare a fishing rod, how to fish, ...
Lunch is served in camp
The children will also learn how to change a tyre, how to drive a 4X4 vehicle, how to track animals in a 4X4 vehicle.
Upon arrival they will share their experience with their parents and relax at the camp. On this day, the catch of the day is on the menu and they will be taught how to prepare and cook their fish.
Dinner is served followed by campfire games and stories for the whole family reminiscing on the lifelong memories created at Mawimbi Bush Camp .

Day 4: Mawimbi Family Adventure
Breakfast is served
The morning will be spent sharing the bush skills you have learnt, the highlights of the trip and the guides and chef will quiz you on some of the new skills and knowledge you were taught and will be awarded with a surprise gift to take home to remind you of this Mawimbi Family Adventure in the Kafue national Park.
