At 6:30 AM your driver will pick you up at your hotel. You will drive along the Highway with colorful landscapes and changing views all the way. At some point along the way you will take the entrance to the left and enter the secondary road for around 30 minutes until you reach Bellavista, at the top of the Tandayapa valley.
Upon arrival in Bellavista, guides will greet you and show you your room and facilities before breakfast. After your breakfast and talking with your guide, you will hike along the forest trails. Your guide will choose the best trails based on group size, weather, and trail conditions. After 2 or more hours of hiking, you will be back at the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon: your package includes another walk in the forest on a different trail to discover the ecology of this mysterious forest. During or after dinner, you will have the opportunity to observe the wonderful Olinguito, here at the lodge.
What to bring:
- Comfortable shirts or t-shirts.
- Wool sweaters for the evening.
- Quick dry pants (blue jeans are not recommended)
- Light tights.
- Change of clothes.
- Hat and sunscreen.
- Water poncho (we have some available if necessary).
- Camera.
- We have rubber boots up to size 47 (some pairs in larger sizes)
- We recommend bringing binoculars (we have some for rent).
- Bottle of water for walks.
- Small suitcase for walks.

As your guide will have mentioned the day before, today you have the option (included in your package) to leave early at 6:30 for a birdwatching walk. Your guide will focus on the birds of Bellavista, around the lodge. At 8:00 AM the special breakfast will be served.
Again you will be able to go on a walk with your guide. You will be able to access different trails each time, maybe this time you will go to discover the waterfall on our Yumbo / Immersion Trail adventure trail.
Lunch will be served at 1 PM.
In the afternoon: you have the option of going to discover the trails on your own, as well as our self-guided trail or you can choose one from the map. This will definitely be an exciting time. Or you can take your guided walk included in your package at 3 PM or simply chat with other guests while watching the hummingbirds at the birdbaths.

AM:Early morning bird hike. Same as yesterday or if you are not a birder, just lie down and listen to the awakening of the forest as the sun appears and sets the world in motion. 8:00 AM: Breakfast. Further hikes for discovery of the exuberant forests around the lodge are as planned in your package or just relax in our lounge or talk to your guide for any Day Excursions he may have available for today outside Bellavista! At 3:00 PM and after setteling your bill for any souvenirs or extras, you driver will be waiting for you to embark for your transfer back to Quito City or airport. At around 5 PM you will be arriving back at your hotel in Quito.
