Day 1: Nairobi

Arrive Nairobi’s JKIA airport, where you will be met by a friendly Peaks & Safaris Representative who will transfer you to the Double tree By Hilton Hotel for overnight. The hotel offers a very comfortable beginning to your safari in Kenya. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Kilimani, perfect location, yet relaxed introduction to Nairobi. Should you arrive into Nairobi early we would be happy to suggest some of the many local attractions to visit; such as Sheldrick Orphanage, Karen Blixen Museum and Giraffe Manor.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, you will depart the city for the picturesque national park of Amboseli. Situated close to the Tanzanian border, this park is known for its soaring views of Mt Kilimanjaro – Africa’s highest peak at 5895m. On a clear morning you can see the snow-capped summit as it rises above the clouds, it’s truly one of the continent’s most breathtaking vistas.

You arrive at your lodge in time to freshen up and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will embark on your first game drive. Amboseli is also known for its population of elephants, at around 1200, with their huge tusks. The elephants of Amboseli are some of the largest in size anywhere in Africa and are affectionately known as ‘Tuskers’.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park

After breakfast embark for a morning and afternoon game drive within the national park or, alternatively, you may do a full day’s game drive with a picnic lunch. You will most certainly head to Observation Hill at some point during the day as this look out gives spectacular views over the grassy savannah and marshes, where you will like see elephants wallowing against a backdrop of Kilimanjaro. Other species that inhabit Amboseli include lion, giraffe, wildebeest and other plains game. You’ll return to camp in the early evening for overnight.

Day 4: Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, you will continue with your safari to Tsavo West national park. Enjoy game viewing as you drive to your lodge for lunch and refreshment before your afternoon gamedrive.

 

One of the iconic sites in this park is the Mzima springs, which comes from an underground river from Kilimanjaro. Here you get to experience  swimming exotic fish from crystal clear water  as well as  spooky  crocodiles & hippos.

Day 5: Tsavo East National Park

After breakfast, you will proceed with your safari to Tsavo East national park. Enjoy game viewing as you drive to your lodge for lunch and refreshment before your afternoon gamedrive.

Tsavo East national park is one of the must parks to visit for wildlife lovers.

In terms of vegetation, this African Savannah has a lower and more sparse vegetation compared to Tsavo West, but for this reason it makes it easier to spot wildlife.

Day 6: End of Itinerary

After waking to the birdsong of the bush for the final time, you take a leisurely breakfast. From there, you bid your farewells to the staff and your driver guide will transfer you to Voi train station where you will board your train to Mombasa. (Alternatively you can be dropped at a coast hotel)
