Days 1 - 2: Sossusvlei

Arrive this morning by own arrangements in Windhoek, Namibia. After clearing immigration and customs formalities you will be met and assisted in boarding a light aircraft for a scheduled charter flight to Sossusvlei, one of the largest conservation areas in Africa (the Namib-Naukluft National Park). Characterized by the large red dunes that surround it, Sossusvlei is a large, white, salt and clay pan. The dunes in this area are some of the highest in the world, reaching almost 400 meters, and provide photographic enthusiasts with wonderful images in the beautiful morning and evening light.

Your accommodation for the next two nights is at Little Kulala Lodge. The décor echoes the local geology, reflecting the surrounding grey and pink limestone that makes this part of Namibia so special. Spot desert-adapted wildlife such as ostriches, springbok, gemsbok, black-backed jackals, bat-eared foxes, perhaps an aardwolf, or Namibia’s endemic dune lark. In the evenings you can stargaze in one of the darkest places on Earth.

An exclusive-use gate provides direct access to the renowned dunes of Sossusvlei and the evocative panoramas of Dead Vlei. Climb the 300-metre red dunes and gaze upon the famed Namib Sand Sea World Heritage Site.

Activities center around guided early morning excursions in four wheel drive vehicles to the magnificent Sossusvlei and Deadvlei areas. Afternoon activities are enjoyed on Little Kulala's property - consisting of guided nature drives or walks to imbibe the desert scenery and its unique fauna and flora.

Days 3 - 5: Hoanib River

After an early morning activity (time permitting) you will be transferred by scheduled light aircraft charter flights via Swakopmund and Doro Nawas to Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp located in a remote area of the Kaokoveld, with gravel-strewn plains and dry riverbeds that draw fascinating wildlife.

Game drives explore this isolated area, moving along the riverbed’s narrow ribbon of vegetation, where a surprising wealth of desert-adapted animals can be found. The in camp the research center provides even more insights. The unforgiving Skeleton Coast, with its shipwreck remains, and noisy colonies of Cape fur seals, is accessed either by a fascinating drive or flight, depending on the weather.

Days 6 - 7: Hartmann Valley

This morning you will be transferred by scheduled light aircraft charter flight to Serra Cafema Camp set under verdant trees on the banks of the Kunene River. This is one of the most remote camps in southern Africa.

Guests can truly disconnect, unwind and relax to the sound of rushing water, and explore one of the driest deserts in the world. Respectful interaction with the semi-nomadic Himba community, fascinating nature walks, boating (water levels permitting), and low-impact guided quad-bike excursions complete the experience.

Days 8 - 9: Ongava Private Game Reserve

This morning you will be transferred by scheduled light aircraft charter flight to Ongava Game Reserve situated in the privately owned Ongava Game Reserve along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park.

Your accommodation for the next two nights at Little Ongava Lodge is perched up on a hill overlooking the pristine natural environment below.  Each villa features a spacious sitting room with a fireplace, as well as a private viewing deck, a sparkling infinity pool, and a separate walkway leading to a smaller thatched lookout point.

Activities include morning and afternoon / evening game drives in shared open safari vehicles, guided walks, and a visit to the Ongava Research Center.
