Day 1: Lima

Upon arrival to your hotel, you will be met by your guide at Lima's Airport and will be assisted to your hotel in Lima.

Day 2: The Sacred Valley of the Incas

Breakfast in your hotel. 

Assistance to Lima's airport for your flight to Cusco. 

At your arrival to Cusco, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. 

En route, visit to Awanacancha, which is a weaving center with the goal to keep alive the traditional textile arts. Here you can see four members of the cameloid family - llama, alpacas, vicunas and guanacos; learn about the harvesting of the different wools and the natural dying techniques and have a chance to see native weavers from different areas showing their different weaving styles and dresses.

Then, you will be driven to Pisac, a Peruvian village full of color and tradition in the Sacred Valley on the Urubamba River. The village is well-known for its market, an event which attracts travelers from all over the world.

Lunch at Huayoccari Hacienda.

After lunch, continue on to the massive fortress of Ollantaytambo, a formidable stone structure that climbs massive terraces to the top of a peak. This was the valley’s main defense against the Antis and was the site of the Incas’ greatest victory against the Spanish during the wars of conquest. You will also visit a local Chicheria house, where your guide will tell you about the history and production process of this unique beverage.

Day 3: The Sacred Valley of the Incas

Breakfast in your hotel.

Enjoy this fun way to meet our main attractions. The ATV’s are off road vehicles, which are designed to be driven on dirt roads.

We start at our Adventure Center in Pachar for the bridle path leading to the archaeological site of Moray, after a quick visit, we come back to the place of beginning, at all the time enjoying a spectacular view of the Sacred Valley.

Includes a briefing by our instructor. Equipment is also included: Helmet & Gloves.

Picnic lunch is included.

In the afternoon. your tour continue with a visit to Chinchero, a town of Inca origin, where you will have the chance to enjoy its colorful traditional market. After, you will be taken to a local house, where you will enjoy a fascinating private workshop led by its owner Paulino and his wife on traditional “backstrap” weaving techniques. After the demonstration, they will be happy to answer your questions on the role and the importance of weaving in traditional and in contemporary Andean culture. 

Return to your hotel.

Day 4: The Sacred Valley of the Incas

Breakfast in your hotel. 

Our guide will pick you up in a private transportation and will take you to this lagoon located approximately 50 minutes far from your hotel.

On the way, you will appreciate a very picturesque panorama of the plain of Chinchero region, very famous for its potato, barley fields and of course for its hard working people.

Once we arrive to the lagoon, our staff will be waiting for you with all the equipment necessary (such as life jacket, wind jacket, kayak skirt and an oar) and will provide a safety talk and details for the activity.
For nearly two hours, you will have the chance of appreciate some birds,  taking colorful photos, and if lucky, you will enjoy the blue sky that characterizes this lagoon during the dry season.

After the activity ends, we will take you back to your hotel.

Rest of the afternoon at your leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities.

Day 5: Machu Picchu Pueblo

Early morning breakfast in your hotel. 

Transfer to the train station to take the Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes. Arrival to Aguas Calientes and transfer to bus station.

Visit to Machu Picchu, the impressive Inca citadel located 113 Km. from Cusco at 2400 meters above sea level. This complex has several stone constructions that leave the tourist breathless because of the amazing design. Accompanied by your guide, explore the city's ruins, and feel its pulse as you visualize the lives of the priests, craftsmen, and servants who inhabited this seemingly uninhabitable citadel. Excavations at the site have revealed skeletons, artifacts and woolen clothing, but no gold. The same precision of assembled stones exists here as in other Incan sites. Overlooking the raging Urubamba River and discovered in a hidden tangle of vines and trees atop the mountain, the city of Machu Picchu will forever hold the secret of its destruction - the Incas left no written record.

In the afternoon, return to Aguas Calientes.

Day 6: Cusco

Breakfast in your hotel. 

Morning at your leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities or for a walk around the small town and local market. 

     * Optional : Check additional cost with us for a second visit to Machu Picchu including a guided hike to Huayna Picchu, Inti Punku or Machu Picchu Mountain. Entrance fee and bus will be included.

Return to Aguas Calientes to board your Vistadome train to return to Cusco.

Day 7: Cusco

Breakfast in your hotel. 

Morning Culinary tour in Cusco. We provide a unique culinary experience in a beautiful kitchen located on the top floor of our building with magical views of the city and with individual cooking stations, where our guests can prepare their own creations with the freshest regional ingredients and experience a new way of learning, sharing and enjoying Peruvian cuisine. We will pick you up at your hotel and guide you to the traditional San Pedro market, where you will see all the local products which you will choose to prepare you lunch. After that, we will be transfer to our kitchen to prepare a delicious appetizer and main course. 

Lunch included. 

In the afternoon, enjoy a walking city tour which includes the Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas, the Santo Domingo Temple or Koricancha; a Dominican Church and convent built on the foundations of the Koricancha or ‘place of gold’,  the Incas principal religious building, dedicated to the worship of the sun, the 12-angled stone and the Main Plaza.

Dinner is not included.

Day 8: Cusco

Breakfast in your hotel. 

This morning, you will enjoy a horseback riding tour to the nearby ruins of Cusco including Qenqo, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay and Sacsayhuaman, but in a different way from the traditional, we will travel for 15 minutes approximately, to our ranch in Qenqo where our horses are waiting for us, then we will substitute our bus for the horses, our passengers will have an explanation of an official guide, the support of a muleteer, and the bus that will travel behind us most part of our adventure.

In the afternoon,  you will be picked up by your guide in your hotel to visit to the local Planetarium. It is located 15 minutes away from downtown Cusco and are a cultural interpretation center of the Incas Astronomy, a southern skies planetarium and an amateur observatory, surrounded by an incredible natural environment. You will get information of the ancient view of the Incas Empire about the universe and they will give you some keys to start stargazing. You will have the chance to see some treasures of the sky with the telescope (depending on weather conditions).

Day 9: Paracas

Breakfast in your hotel. 

Morning transfer to the airport for your flight back to Lima. 

Upon your arrival to Lima, transfer to Paracas.

Lunch at Hacienda San Jose. A gorgeous XVI century Hacienda, located an hour from Paracas, this boutique property lets you feel how things were a few centuries ago, in colonial times, it is history being relived. You will also have the chance to visit the property, the tour will include the catacombs, the network of underground tunnels and rooms and the "punishment room" dating from slavery times which is very interesting. 

Then, you will continue your trip to Paracas. 

Upon arrival to the hotel, you will check-in and have the rest of the afternoon at your leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities.

Day 10: Paracas

Breakfast in your hotel.

This morning, we will explore one of this region’s most beautiful natural attractions, the Ballestas Islands.  Often referred to as “Peru’s Small Galapagos,” the volcanic islands are home to an array of wildlife and dramatic scenery.  We begin with a drive to a private pier, where we embark on a 2-hour boat trip to the islands. Keep your eyes peeled for the birds and sea mammals that call this area home as we cruise around the islands. 

A short stop is made to admire “El Candelabro,” a candelabra-like sketch in the sand on the Paracas hills. On arrival at the islands the pace is slowed and numerous fantastic photo opportunities present themselves as seals, sea lions and penguins circle the boat in great numbers, while boobies, frigate birds and pelicans fly above. This excursion offers an enjoyable wildlife interlude where close encounters are an everyday occurrence.

Return to the hotel for lunch. 

In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the desert oasis of Huacachina in Ica for a unique experience, you will climb into a 4-wheel-drive dune buggy driven by a professional driver. Half the tour is riding in the dune buggy, up and down the dunes at fast speeds, and the other half of the tour is a chance to try the adventure sport of “sandboarding”. This is just like snowboarding, but instead of snow you will be boarding on the fine-grained sand of the desert.
A tour into the desert feels like an “out of this world” experience, almost like visiting the surface of another planet.  Return to the hotel.

 

Day 11: End of Itinerary
