South African Sojourn - GOLD or SILVER

On arrival at Cape Town airport you will be met by our ground staff and handed your documentation. You will then be transferred to the Victoria & Alfred hotel on the waterfront for a 3 night stay in a Piazza facing standard room. (SILVER OPTION - Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel)

Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Guests will enjoy the day on the Hop On Hop Off bus departing from the Waterfront.

This sightseeing excursion offers a 'Hop-On, Hop-Off' Cape Town city tour aboard an open-top, double-decker bus. Gain an oversight of the city’s multi-cultural and eclectic history. Experience panoramic views of Cape Town’s spectacular scenery. The tour stops at prominent museums and inner-city sights before heading to the lower cableway station. From there the tour travels back down to the beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton and returns to the Victoria and Alfred [V&A] Waterfront. A comprehensive route map is handed to guests boarding the bus. With over 30 stops across 3 different routes, you'll have plenty of opportunities to hop off the bus and explore the Cape Town landmarks and attractions that appeal to you most.

Guests will enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast guests will be collected for their full day scheduled Cape Point Tour.

Cape Town is built on a mountainous peninsula. This full day tour is an ideal way to see the highlights of the city. Travel along the Atlantic seaboard with its white beaches and rugged mountains to Hout Bay. If time permits, there is the option of taking a half hour boat trip to Duiker Island to see a Cape Fur Seal colony (for own account). If open, continue on Chapman’s Peak Drive, noted as one of the most stunning roadways in the world. Visit the Cape Point Nature Reserve and the tip of the Cape Peninsula that has captivated travelers for centuries. The return journey to Cape Town takes guests along the False Bay coast with the option of visiting the colony of rare African Penguins at Boulders Beach (for own account). Guests will pass through the naval village of Simon’s Town, Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg. Visit the internationally-acclaimed Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden before returning to the hotel.

This morning your hire car will be delivered to the hotel. When you are ready you will head for the beautiful Cape Winelands.  Explore the university town of Stellenbosch on the way and  have lunch at one of the many wineries on offer  and then at days end check in to Franschhoek Country House for an overnight stay in a standard deluxe room (SILVER OPTION: Protea Hotel Franschhoek). 

This morning leave  for a leisurely ,scenic drive to the Knysna Hollow Country Estate along the Garden Route for a three night stay in a garden suite (SILVER OPTION : Protea Hotel Knysna Quays). Enjoy lunch and coffee breaks along the way. 

Knysna is one of the Southern Cape coast's best known holiday destinations, situated between lush forests and the shores of the peaceful lagoon - it offers many activities and attractions of a wide variety. The most well-known attraction being the heads - two great sandstone cliffs guarding the mouth of the lagoon which connects the estuary with the sea. A lookout has been erected on the Eastern Head, commanding spectacular views of the lagoon, Leisure Isle and Knysna. There are also several day trips that can be done from this area.

Drive to Oudtshoorn today and see the Ostrich farms and the paintings in the Cango Caves. See Meerkats and their entertaining antics before heading back to Knysna.

This morning drive to Plettenberg Bay, a beautiful seaside town only 30 minutes drive from Knysna.  Apart from enjoying beautiful scenery, we can recommend that you visit Birds of Eden, a free-flight bird sanctuary in an indigenous forest.  If you are lucky, you might even spot a whale as they  come near the coast in migration season.  

Today make your way to George airport in time to connect with your flight to Nelspruit via Johannesburg. Drop off your car at the airport. On arrival in Nelspruit you will be met and transferred to Olivers Lodge for an overnight stay in an exclusive standard room. Enjoy a spa and massage if you feel like it and then relax with dinner in the magnificent restaurant. (SILVER OPTION: Rissington Inn)

After breakfast you will be collected form the hotel and transferred to Savanna Private Game Reserve in the Sabi Sands for a 3 night stay in a luxury suite. This is our favourite game lodge in all of Africa and has the Big 5 and arguably the best Leopard viewing in the world. The lodge is the epitome of a fully inclusive and diverse African wildlife and cultural experience. Memorable and exciting big game viewing and a fascinating insight into the local tribal customs of the Shangaan people, will form part of your safari experience. After a last game drive this morning bid farewell to new found friends and Africa. You will be met at the lodge and transferred back to the local airport  in time to connect with your flight to Johannesburg and home.
