This region is well known because it is at the foothills of the mighty Andes Range, where the summits (Aconcagua) can be up to 7.000 meters above sea level. Mendoza is also the biggest wine producer in the whole country and more than 1,200 wineries are active and producing. Some of them can be visited to learn more about the process and to taste a bit of the local Malbec or Cabernet Sauvignon.
