Day 1: Overnight Travel

Make your own way to Heathrow on time for your British Airways Flight in Club World.

Day 2: New Delhi

On arrival at Delhi Airport you will be met and transferred to the Imperial Hotel for 2 nights in a Grande heritage room on B&B basis.

The rest of the day will be relaxing at the hotel.

Day 3: New Delhi

Today sightseeing of Delhi.

In Old Delhi visit the Jama Masjid, the great mosque of Old Delhi is both the largest in India and the final architectural extravagance of Shah Jahan, with a courtyard capable of holding 25000 devotees. Enjoy a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, winding through the labyrinthine lanes of the “moonlight place” glimpsing tiny shops crammed with spices and trinkets. Drive past the magnificent 17th century Red Fort, symbolizing the sovereignty of India and finally stop at Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi.

In New Delhi visit the mausoleum of emperor Humanyu - a forerunner of the Mughal style of architecture. Later visit the 12th century Qutub Minar, gracefully hand-carved for its entire height of 234ft, and the iron pillar, which has withstood the ravages of time and not rusted even after 1500 years.

Afterwards return to the hotel.

Day 4: Agra

After breakfast you will be transferred with your drive to Agra - 4 hour drive 205 kms

On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Amarvilas for 1 night in a premier room with balcony on B&B basis.

Visit the Agra Fort, In Fort visit Diwan-E-Am (House of Commons), mosques within Fort and royal pavilions like Macchi Bhavan, Shah Jahani Mahal & others. Several of the buildings are made of pure marble with beautiful carvings. To cool off the rooms, the walls were hollow and filled with running water. The balconies of these pavilions give clear view of Taj Mahal & Yamuna River flowing next to it.

Afterwards visit the world famous Taj Mahal built by Shah Jahan in 1560 in memory of his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. This architectural marvel is a perfectly proportioned masterpiece fashioned from white marble that stands testimony to the skill of 20,000 craftsmen brought together from Persia, Turkey, France and Italy and who took 17 year to complete this ' Love Poem in Marble'.(Closed on Fridays)

Day 5: Jaipur

DRIVE FROM AGRA TO JAIPUR VIA FATEHPUR SIKRI (245 KM / 06 HRS)

This morning after breakfast leave from Agra to Jaipur by surface en-route visits Fatehpur Sikri.

Located 40 Km from Agra, the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, in honour of the great Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti who blessed Akbar and prophesized the birth of three sons to the heirless Emperor. Akbar used Fatehpur Sikri as his capital and the city was fully occupied for 14 years but slowly became deserted and ruined after Akbar left the city. Scarcity of water was the prime factor for the abandonment of this beautiful city. Visit the reparably well-preserved, graceful buildings within the 'Ghost City' including the Jama Masjid, tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal Palace and other palaces that speak of the grandeur and splendor of the Mughal empire at the height of its power.

Later continue the drive to Jaipur. On arrival, check in at the Oberoi Rajvilas in a luxury tent  on B&B basis for 3 nights.

Day 6: Jaipur

Jaipur Full day trip

After breakfast you will start at Amber Fort with either with elephant ride ir jeep to the entrance. Amber is a classic, romantic Rajasthani Fort Palace. The rugged, time-ravaged walls of the Fort not only look beautiful from the outside, but the interior is a virtual paradise.

Miniatures painted on the walls depict hunting, war scenes, and festivals. Precious stones and mirrors are embedded into the plaster. Inside the Jag Mandir is the famed Sheesh Mahal - a room with all the four walls and ceiling completely embedded with glittering mirror pieces, which were specially imported from Belgium during that period. En route to Amber Fort, you will have a brief photography stop at Hawa Mahal - the Palace of Winds.

In the afternoon visit the Maharaja's City Palace, the former Royal residence, A part of it is converted into a museum. A small portion is still used by the Royal family of Jaipur. Built in the style of a fortified campus, the palace covers almost one-seventh in area of the whole city. One of the major attractions in the museum is the portion known as the Armoury Museum housing an impressive array of weaponry-pistols, blunderbusses, flintlocks, swords, rifles and daggers. The royal families of Jaipur once used most of these weapons.

Later visit the Jantar Mantar, which is the largest stone and marble crafted observatory in the world. Situated near the gate of the city palace, the observatory has 17 large instruments, many of them still in working condition.

Day 8: Jodhpur

TRAIN FROM JAIPUR TO JODHPUR

Early morning transfer to the Railway station to board the train to Jodhpur.

Depart 06:00 arrive 10:50

On arrival you will be met of the train and transferred to the Umaid Bhawan Palace for 3 nights in a Palace Room on B&B basis.

The rest of the day will be at  leisure to enjoy the beautiful hotel.

 

Day 9: Jodhpur

Jodhpur

After breakfast take a sightseeing tour of Jodhpur, visiting the 5-km long Mehrangarh Fort situated on a 125-metre high hill overlooking the city. This is one of the most impressive and formidable structures in Rajasthan. Within the fort are some magnificent palaces with meticulously carved panels, latticed windows or "Jarokhas" with evocative names. The chambers of Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, the SilehKhana and the DaulatKhana are noteworthy for the splendor and glamour of a bygone era. Later visit the Jaswant Thada - a cluster of royal cenotaphs in the white marble built in 1899 AD in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh-II.

Evening walk through the crowded Clock tower market which is the main market of Jodhpur city.  Interact with locals, strike a bargain with street vendors or simply experience the buzz of this busy market which showcase a very subtle blend of tradition & modern. For those with sweet tooth a glass of Lassi (sweetend buttermilk with curd) will be an ideal treat.  Spice lovers can try their hands on Mirchi Vada.

Day 10: Jodhpur

JODHPUR TO JAWAI DRIVE (156 KMS/ 04 HOURS)

Today morning after breakfast drive to Jawai

Upon arrival check in at the Sujan Jawai Camp to stay 2 nights in a luxury tent on full board basis.

In the afternoon enjoy the jeep safari from Jawai Camp to visit the wildlife in the surrounding area.

Day 13: Udaipur

JAWAI TO UDAIPUR DRIVE (145 KMS/ 04 HOURS)

Enjoy your final game drive at Jawai and breakfast.

Transfer to Udaipur through  the Aravali Hills to Udaipur. On arrival check-in at the Amazing Oberoi Udaivilas for 3 nights in a premier room with shared pool B&B basis.

rest of the day at leisure.

Day 14: Udaipur

Morning city tour visiting City Palace, built in 1725, which houses the Dilkhush Mahal, Sheesh Mahal studded with glittering Belgian mirrors, Moti Mahal and the Palace of Lord Krishna all of which are ornately decorated.  Later visit the Jagdish Temple.  This temple built in 1651 is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the preserver in the Hindu Trinity of Gods.  Also visit the Sahelion Ki Bari -Garden of the Maidens.  It was built by Maharajas for their ladies. The fountains here operate on water pressure with no pump being used.

Return to the hotel.

Day 15: Udaipur

At the appropriate time you will be transferred to the airport for your internal flight to Mumbai

On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Taj Mahal Hotel to stay in a Luxury Grand Seaview Room in the Palace Wing  on B&B basis.

 

Day 17: Mumbai

Today morning after breakfast visit the Gateway of India, Mumbai's principle landmark.  This arch of yellow basalt was erected on the waterfront in 1924 to commemorate King George V's visit to this colony in 1911.  Drive past the Afghan Church.  Secretariat of Maharashtra Government and along the Marine Drive which is fondly known as the 'Queen's Necklace'.  Visit Jain temple and o Mani Bhavan where Mahatma Gandhi stayed during his visits to Mumbai.  Drive past Haji Ali Mosque, a shrine in honour of a Muslim Saint on an island 500 metres out at sea and is linked by a causeway to the mainland.  Stop at the 'Dhobi Ghat' where Mumbai's 'dirties' are scrubbed, bashed, dyed and hung out to dry.  Watch the local train passing close by on which the city commuters 'hang out like laundry' - a nice photography stop.  Continue to the colourful Crawford market and to the Flora fountain in the large bustling square, in the heart of the city.
