Day 2: Hanoi

On arrival into Hanoi airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

In the afternoon, you have a variety of options available to explore Hanoi, here are a couple of options.

Cyclo tour and Water Puppet Show

In the afternoon, take a cyclo (1 person rickshaw) tour of Hanoi's incredible Old Quarter to learn about the history of the Old Quarter, its traditional architecture, and bustling local life. Sample some of the most popular street food specialties. Afterwards enjoy a street coffee at a roadside café in the Hanoi Old Quarter and a water puppet show before returning to the hotel and free at your leisure

Day 3: Hanoi

After breakfast, take a full day city tour of Hanoi. Your first stop is the Ho Chi Minh Complex, which contains the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh. Visit the Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. Close by is the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origin dates back to the foundation of Hanoi a thousand years ago. Then you will visit Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple.

In the afternoon, take an easy walking tour of Hanoi's incredible Old Quarter to learn about the history of the Old Quarter, its traditional architecture, and bustling local life. Sample some of the most popular street food specialties. Afterwards enjoy a street coffee at a roadside café in the Hanoi Old Quarter and a water puppet show before returning to the hotel and free at your leisure.

Day 4: Paradise Elegance, Ha Long Bay

08:30: After breakfast, set off to Ha Long Bay, one of New Seven Natural Wonders. Along the way, stop off for a coffee and then continue through the paddy fields to the harbour.  Arriving just before noon, you will board a traditional Vietnamese cruise setting sail through the limestone islands whilst enjoying a seafood or vegetarian lunch.

In the afternoon take a sampan ride to visit a traditional fishing village and experience their way of life.  After a short cooking class, settle down on the upper deck for some drinks whilst watching the sunset and then heading inside to enjoy a delicious dinner on board.. The rest of the evening you are free to relax, or why not try your luck fishing, watching a film or simply enjoy some drinks and chat.

Day 5: Hue

For those early risers, there is the chance to take part in a Tai Chi demonstration on the sundeck, where tea and coffee will be available. Breakfast is served from 07:00 in the restaurant followed by a visit to Thien Canh Son cave, the most stunning cave in the Bay. Head back to the cruise and check out before having brunch whilst the cruise heads back to the harbour. 

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hue. Upon arrival in Hue, transfer to your hotel.

Day 6: Hue

The ancient capital of Hue is well known for its historic monuments, which have earned it a place as one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. During 1968 Tet Offensive, the city suffered considerable damage by both the North Vietnamese and American military forces. After breakfast, take an in-depth tour of this historical city.

  • The Hue Old Citadel, containing the Imperial City and the Purple Forbidden City
  • Thien Mu Pagoda, the symbol of Hue – so amazing pagoda!
  • Minh Mang Tomb, the impressive architecture in a serene environment

Day 7: Hoi An

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and get ready for another interesting day.

Take a 3-hour drive south along the coast road until you reach the picturesque spot of Hai Van pass (Cloudy Pass) with its views of Da Nang City. Whilst passing through the city, we stop off at the Cham Sculpture Museum before paying a visit to Non Nuoc Beach and Marble Mountain.

Arrive at Hoi An, an UNESCO World Heritage town that dates back to the 15th century. The town is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th – 19th Century. The town displays a unique blend of local and foreign influences. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.

Day 8: Hoi An

Take an in-depth walking tour of the most interesting sites, including the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Chinese Assembly Halls, Tan Ky Ancient House, and The vibrant market time for some rest or refreshments.

Arriving in Hoi An ancient town, you cannot miss visiting the seven – hectare water coconut woods with the unique ecosystem of water coconut trees. This place is a relic of the film revolutionary base during the war between US army and Hoi An people. Here you will be enthusiastically welcomed by the local people, they will lead you to visit the creeks in the water coconut woods by basket boats, you will be instructed to fish crabs and you will see the performances of rowing basket boats by the local rower.

Day 9: Hoi An

After breakfast, we will pick you up at the hotel and spend half day exploring the World Heritage – My Son Sanctuary.

In the morning:

  • A visit to My Son Sanctuary, which was recognized as a world heritage site and later on as an example of evolution and change in culture, as evidence of an Asian civilization
  • A traditional Cham dance performance

Return to Hoi An Ancient Town. The rest of the day is yours! Relax and enjoy the facilities on offer at your hotel or explore the surrounding area prior to getting a good night’s sleep in your hotel

Days 10 - 11: Hoi An

At leisure to enjoy the beautiful facilities of the Nam Hai.

Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City

Today take a short flight to Ho Chi Minh – the most bustling city of Vietnam. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel where the rest of the day will be at leisure.

Day 13: Ho Chi Minh City

Today you will take an in-depth tour of the most interesting sites of Ho Chi Minh. Learn about the local history and culture in this bustling cosmopolitan city.

08:00 Departing early to avoid the heat, drive just over 1 ½ hours to the Cu Chi tunnel complex. Over 200 km of tunnels were dug by hand and used by the Viet Cong as hiding areas during the Vietnam War. The immense network of tunnels contained hospitals and schools and many deadly traps where added to deter the American soldiers. Return to Ho Chi Minh. In the afternoon, you will

  • Ride a rickshaw through different local markets for 40 minutes.
  • Walk through small alleys and small local markets to explore the real Saigon.
  • Walkthrough walking square to Saigon river and visit Bitexco building to enjoy the Heineken Experience and view Ho Chi Minh city from high floor.

Day 14: Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast at the hotel you will;

 

  • Drive away from the noise of city life to reach Tam vu - the kingdom of dragon fruits plantation. We may stop at a garden on way and enjoy a special kind of dragon fruit- the red one
  • The busy market with colorful flowers and fruits and vegetables, catfish, turtle...will give you a wonderful photo for countryside life
  • Not only dragon fruits but also rice, corn, chili field on way down a ferry station will bring you to another picture of Mekong delta
  • Hop on a bike (or motorbike)to get on a green island full of coconut and sour-sop. Let stop at a local how to see what do they do with coconut, water hyacinth weaving, brooms and coconut leaf roof made
  • Let try a new taste with cool canal by a sampan
  • Lunch will be in a coconut garden with great hospitality from the host

 

Afternoon, drive back Saigon. The rest of day is yours.

Day 15: Overnight Travel

Today you are at leisure until your transfer to the airport in the evening. If you have not made it there already I would highly recommend visiting the War Remnants Museum - although it sounds macabre it really does give a fascinating and passionate insight into the conflict.
