Arrival in Hongkong

Welcome to China!

Upon landing, you will be greeted at Hong Kong International airport and transferred to The upper House.

As this is an arrival day, the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2: Hong Kong City

Half Day Hong Kong Island Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll be met by your private driver/guide on a half-day tour to discover the charming city of Hong Kong.

Visits included in your tour today are:

Victoria Peak - The world-famous Victoria Peak is only 552 meters high, but it provides a bird's-eye view of Victoria Harbour, Kowloon Peninsula and Hong Kong Island. It is truly one of the finest skylines in the world. Whether by day or night, Victoria Peak is a must-see. (One way tram ticket is included)

Repulse Bay - Primarily a well-to-do residential area, Repulse Bay has a relaxed, resort-like atmosphere. The wide beach is popular with residents & great for sandy strolls. The Life Guard Club built in traditional Chinese style, features statues of Kwun Yum & Tin Hau, both protectors of fishermen.

Aberdeen Fishing Village - is home to hundreds of people living on fishing junks, juxtaposed against a modern high-rise community (Sampan ride for 15 mins is included)

Enjoy a Dim-Sum lunch at the jumbo floating restaurant.

Day 3: Hong Kong City

Hong Kong Lantau Tour

After breakfast, your tour begins by air-conditioned coach with pick up from your hotel to Tung Chung, a newly developed town on Lantau Island.

Stroll through the culturally themed Ngong Ping Village, then to the Great Bronze Buddha Statue, at 26 metres tall and 202 tonnes, it is the world’s tallest, outdoor, seated, bronze statue of Buddha.

Enjoy a vegetarian lunch during the trip.

Adjacent to the statue is Po Lin Monastery (Precious Lotus), founded by three monks in 1920 as a monastic retreat. Today it is a major religious enterprise, blessed with brightly decorated temples and a floral garden.

A short walk away is the Wisdom Path where an ancient prayer is inscribed on a series of wooden columns set in a figure of eight to signify infinity. One column is left blank to suggest the concept of emptiness, a key theme in the prayer.

Enjoy an approximately 25 minutes cable car ride from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping Plateau (520-metre-high) offering stunning views.

At around 14:00, the return trip to hotel from Tung Chung by coach .

Day 4: Hong Kong City, Macau

One Day Macau Tour

After breakfast at hotel, we head to pier. Depart for Macau by high speed catamaran (approximately 60 mins).

After approximately 15-30 minutes immigration formality begins the city tour, western set lunch included at a local restaurant during the trip:

The Ruins of St. Paul – This Roman Catholic Church was built in 1602 and burned by fire in 1835. Miraculously, fine carvings and statues can be seen on the surviving façade.

Senado Square – the Square is surrounded by pastel-colored neo-classical buildings, creating a consistent and harmonious Mediterranean atmosphere, the most popular venue for public events and celebrations today.

A-Ma Temple – The temple was built 400 years ago in homage to a girl who saved seamen’s livers. Macau was later named by the Portuguese settlers in mid-16th Century.

Lunch – Western Set Lunch at local restaurant.

Macau Tower – Drop by the concourse of Macau Tower for taking picture (entrance ticket is excluded)

Casino – Casinos in Macau offer a large variety of casino games that give versatile entertainment to visitors. Try your luck!

Return to Hong Kong by Catamaran and transfer back to hotel.

Day 5: Beijing

Hongkong -Beijing

After breakfast we will be transferred to airport, and take flight to Beijing, upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your selected hotel.

The rest of the day is at leisure

Day 6: Beijing

Beijing

Morning drive to Huanghuacheng Great Wall for a hike along this Chinese icon. Huanghuacheng literally means “Yellow Flower”, which is known as the only Great Wall section that is submerged in water. Take a slight hike on the wall.

Picnic lunch will be included during the hiking, afternoon back to the city, en route see Olympic Venues from outside (Bird’s nest, water cube).

in the evening for the famous Peking duck at Dadong restaurant, voted best "Chinese Restaurant of the Year," "Beijing Duck" and "Best for Impressing Visitors" in the 2011 Reader Restaurant Awards. Try dipping a slice of duck in the sugar provided alongside other condiments – somehow, it works beautifully.

Day 7: Beijing

Beijing

After breakfast we start our day from Tiananmen Square, one of the oldest and largest city squares in the world. It was first built in 1651 and large enough to fit 500,000 people into its over 100 acres of open space. Adjacent to the square is the world famous Forbidden City (Closed on Monday, need passport copies to make reservation upfront)— superbly elegant and in close to pristine condition. UNESCO declared the Forbidden City as the largest collection of ancient wooden structures in the world. Go on a journey back in time as you walk down its red-walled alleys, through its magnificent courtyards and intricate interiors, and along the serene moat that rings the city with green.

After a cooking lesson with lunch at authentic family, you will take a relaxed stroll through Beijing’s historical hutongs (ride a rickshaw to Houhai Lake).

In these old neighborhoods, traditional courtyard houses connected by narrow stone-paved alleyways have been transformed from residences to hubs of culture for visitors and locals alike.

Enjoy traditional snacks and cafes, relax on stone benches under willow trees, or search for handicrafts to take home as keepsakes.

Day 8: Beijing

This day will begin with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, where Emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasty worshiped God and prayed for good harvest. Not only a tourist attraction, but a public gathering place where you see how local people spend their leisure time, especially senior citizens. The compound has made it a multi-function venue: to practice their calligraphy with water brush instead of ink brush, Beijing opera fans to practice their beloved episode; elderly people bring their grandchildren to fly kite there; it’s also interesting to see parents do match making for their adult children here.

After lunch, we will visit Panjiayuan Antique market. The mother of all "antique" markets is home to over 3,000 dealers who scour the countryside in search of antiques, family heirlooms and curios. This is the place to go for life-size terracotta warriors, vintage photographs, porcelain vases and figurines, Qing-style furniture and much, much more.

Day 9: Shanghai

Beijing - Shanghai

After breakfast, take a highspeed train (1st class) to Shanghai. Lunch will be at your own arrangement on board. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your selected hotel.

In the evening, walk along the Bund, Shanghai's iconic and glittering waterfront district, with classic Art Deco buildings offerring a range of dining and nightlife venues with stunning views of Shanghai's Huangpu River and towering Pudong financial district. At night, the glass towers across the river bathe the Bund and all the ferries cruising along the river in a bright variety of colors and moving images.

Then, you will board an evening Huangpu River Cruise Boat (VIP Cabin) to watch the city’s most significant landmarks sparkle above the shimmering Huangpu River in the magical cover of darkness.

Day 10: Shanghai

Beijing - Shanghai

In the morning, head to Yu Garden and the Old Town area around it. Yu Garden, dating back to 1559, is one of the restored features of Shanghai’s Old Town. The Garden, heavily influenced by classical Suzhou garden design, holds more than 40 traditional halls, towers, pagodas, and pavilions. Many are surrounded by jade ponds and lush trees, all connected by stone walkways that stray through rock gardens and rise above koi ponds.

Local lunch included during the visit.

Afternoon take a promenade in The French Concession, which is a historical, trendy, and cultural neighbourhood. Its easygoing streets are lined with trees imported from France 100 years ago and dotted with boutique shops, gourmet restaurants, historic European villas and art deco buildings from Shanghai’s jazz age. Old China still resides in the neighbourhood’s classic lane houses, like Tianzifang, a cluster of lane houses which have been restored and turned into an arts and culture hub.

We will afterwards take a sidecar to explore the authentic area. (Tour is approximately 2 hours long)

Day 11: Shanghai

Shanghai

After breakfast, we will begin our day tour with Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China to have a panorama view of Shanghai and its busy Lujiazui CBD and Bund across the river. Since it is so far China's tallest tower, it has been attracting numerous people to feel the height, modern feature, especially to take the world’s fastest elevator to the 546m high floor that is the world’s highest observation deck and there you can appreciate the fantastic sightseeing of the large area of Shanghai downtown and feel as if they're standing in the sky.

After lunch, explore the China Art Palace, a unique structure built for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo now repurposed as an art museum. The inverted pyramid structure houses more than 1,400 works of art, including the show piece of the expo - an electronic rendering of the Qingming Scroll.

The Qingming Scroll is a stunningly detailed panoramic painting that captures the daily lives of hundreds of people living in an old imperial city. The scroll dates back to 1085, so it is quite delicate, but his digital rendition at the China Palace of Art allows you to step in for a close look at a moment in the life of someone living about a thousand years ago.

Day 12: Shanghai

Shanghai

After breakfast, the whole day will be spent visiting one of China’s best-preserved water villages - the nearby Zhujiajiao, a peaceful fishing village built 1700 years ago. This vibrant traditional village offers a rare glimpse into China’s past.

After lunch, we will take a boat to pass through the small canals to see their authentic traditional lifestyle here. Turn back to hotel in the afternoon.

This afternoon, we will be cooking alongside some of the top professional chefs in the local culinary scene. The kitchen is set in a factory-converted loft space, centrally located in the historical French Concession area. A standard session of 1.5hrs, a Cuisine Class teaching 2-3 cuisine recipes or a Dumpling Class teaching 1-2 pastry recipes, depending on the combination. You can eventually enjoy what you made after the class.
