Day 2: Cape Town

After breakfast, you rise above the city in a rotating cable car to the top of Cape Town’s most iconic natural landmark – Table Mountain. At 3563 feet above sea-level, it’s one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Settled within the Cape Floral Kingdom, one of only 6 Floral Kingdoms in the world, and the most diverse, Table Mountain is a place of myth, legend, and spectacular views! We recommend lunch in The Company Gardens, a large botanical park in the heart of the city, planted by European settlers in 1650 where the nations Parliament, a neoclassical heritage site can also be found. Close by, you will also tour the Castle of Good Hope, one of the oldest structures in Africa, before visiting the vibrant flea market in the center of Cape Town - Greenmarket Square. Dinner is an adventure of flavors and entertainment, an opulent African Cuisine extravaganza, complete with a djembe drum performance and a 14-dish tasting menu. Each dish is based on African culinary traditions and storytelling.

Day 3: Cape Town

Today is a full day scheduled tour of the Cape Winelands. It begins with a delightful drive that winds its way through superb mountain ranges intersected by vineyards of the Cape Dutch Homesteads. You enter wine country by way of Stellenbosch, which is the heart of South Africa’s wine industry and boasts great beauty, culture, and history. Take in the classic Cape Dutch architecture on the way to your first wine tasting at Neethingshof Estate, one of the oldest wine estates in the country dating back to 1692. We then travel over the Helshoogte Pass into the town of Franschhoek, in the most picturesque of valleys that complement its French Huguenot heritage. You will choose where to lunch on Main Street from the fabled culinary skills of Franschhoek chefs at a multitude of award-winning restaurants and explore its quaint stores, indulging in a sip of wine or two along the way. Then you take a tour of the Huguenot Memorial Museum and Monument. Before your food and wine pairing you will have time to freshen up and even stroll through the gardens at Grand Provence. After dinner, head back to Cape Town for some well-deserved rest.
