Rothenburg ob der Tauber & Würzburg - The Romantic Road
After a tasty breakfast, today's excursion takes you along parts of the world-famous stretch known as the "Romantic Road". A rather modern "invention", the road was created in the 1950s when Germany was desperate to rebuild the tourism industry. Starting in Würzburg, the road continues through beautiful scenery, quaint villages and medieval towns, and ends up near the Alps and the castle Neuschwanstein.
Rothenburg ob der Tauber is our first stop today. A prime example of a walled medieval town, Rothenburg boasts beautiful buildings, walls, and alleys.
Join in on a guided walking tour of Rothenburg and see the pretty market square, the Town Hall and the castle. Listen to stories from days long gone until today before spending some time at leisure in the pretty town.
After lunch, continue to Würzburg - a UNESCO protected town situated in the middle of Germany's biggest wine-producing areas. Enjoy free time in Würzburg before heading to Volkach to enjoy local food and wine. Check out the observation deck for stunning views over the Altmain region.
Return to your hotel in the evening.

Nuremberg - Franconia's unofficial capital
Spend today exploring Nuremberg, Bavaria's second-largest city. With its beautiful Old Town, historical buildings and its landmark, the Kaiserburg-fortress, Nuremberg is a gorgeous city not to be missed. Your local guide will take you through the narrow alleys, past romantic half-timbered houses, and impressive churches such as St. Sebaldus, St. Lorenz and the Church of Our Lady. At the end of the tour, indulge in Nuremberg's perhaps most famous export - the Nuremberg Bratwurst!
The rest of the afternoon is at your own leisure. Meet up in the evening for a night of delicious local food, wine, and music!

Bamberg - the Capital of Beer
After a good night's sleep and breakfast, today's excursion goes to the German Beer capital - Bamberg. Over 400 types of beers are produced here, and over 60 breweries are still going strong. Start today with a beer tour of Bamberg, and learn about the art of brewing beer, while seeing the town. On the tour, you will also see the famous Cathedral, and the Old Court - the former residence of the bishop and one of Bamberg's most impressive buildings. Finally, see gorgeous "Little Venice", the old fisherman's village featuring canals and cute half-timbered houses. Enjoy lunch in a typical Franconian beer garden.
Return to Nuremberg in the afternoon for your final night traditional Franconian dinner in town!
