Day notes

This morning, make your own way to Cape Town International Airport in time to checkin [latest 07.45] for your flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. AIRLINK 390 @ 09.45

Because you are going into ZAMBIA for activities, we suggest you get the KAZA UNIVISA $50pp on arrival, which gives you access to both Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Once you have your bags and they have been scanned, you’ll be met at the airport by a representative from PEARLS TOURS, holding a name board, and they will transfer you to Insika Guest Lodge, where you can settle in and freshen up.

Once you're ready, your guide from PEARLS TOURS will pick you up and take you on a GUIDED TOUR of Victoria Falls. Entrance to the Victoria Falls National Park is US$50 per person, payable directly at the gate, cash or card. Enjoy time to walk the scenic trails and marvel at one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, which takes around 2 hours. YOU WILL BE UNDER A BIT OF TIME PRESSURE, you need to be back  for 16.55 pick-up [busy day!]

After returning to the lodge for a short break, your evening continues with a sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi River.

You will be picked up at 16.55 by WILD HORIZONS and transferred to the riverside jetty, where you'll board the Malachite for a relaxed cruise upstream. As the sun dips below the horizon, watch herds of animals gather along the water’s edge and birds soar across the golden sky.

Dinner is served on board as you soak in the tranquillity of the Zambezi at dusk—an unforgettable start to your time in Victoria Falls.

This morning at 07.00, you’ll be collected from your lodge by WILD HORIZONS and transferred across the iconic bridge spanning the Batoka Gorge, which links Zimbabwe and Zambia. After border formalities, you'll continue into Zambia and on to Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.

08.15 Here, you’ll join a guided walking safari to see White Rhinos—a rare and memorable opportunity to encounter these endangered giants on foot in their natural environment. 

11.50 Later in the day, with WILD HORIZONS, you'll be transferred to the Livingstone Island Launch Site, situated between the Victoria Falls border and Livingstone Town. From here, a boat ride takes you to Livingstone Island, perched on the very edge of the Falls. Your small group will enjoy a guided island tour with spectacular vantage points before the ultimate adrenaline rush—a swim in Angel's Pool, right at the lip of the waterfall. 

WEAR: Swimwear, comfortable clothes and walking shoes. From June to August we recommend guests bring warm clothes because it can be cold and windy. BRING Sunscreen, swimming towel, hat, sunglasses and your camera.

A light meal is served on the island before your return boat transfer to the mainland and a scenic road transfer [around 2pm] back across the border to your lodge in Victoria Falls.

Day notes

This morning after breakfast, you will be picked up at 10.00 and transferred to the border by PEARLS TOURS, you will change vehicles at the border and continue into Botswana and to the airport in Kasane. Your lodge guide/driver from MUCHENJE will meet and transfer you to the lodge.

Muchenje offers game drives and boat cruises, on morning and afternoon safari activities. A boat cruise is included in a 2 day stay, usually a full day out with lunch on the boat.

Typically on safari you will be woken up early, have a light breakfast with hot drinks, fruit, toast and snacks before heading out at first light. Depending on what you are seeing and conditions, you could spend between 3 – 4 hours before returning to camp for breakfast or brunch. Siesta through the middle of the day and then you may have lunch or a high-tea [each camp operates its own schedule], and then head out again in the afternoon between 3pm and 4pm. Afternoon game drives sometimes go on after dark, depending on park rules, so it is considered a night drive if you do go into the dark where you may view nocturnal creatures or even follow big cats on the hunt. [National Parks have gate times while private concessions do not] Return to camp around 7pm for dinner before heading back to your room for the night.

Day notes

From Muchenje you will be transferred back to Kasane Airport in time to fly into the Okavango delta with MOREMI AIR.

The flight schedules are planned the day before, so we do not get timing or tickets however the airline will communicate directly with Muchenje the afternoon before, and your transfer time to the airport and flight time will be shared with you the afternoon before.

On arrival at Kwara airstrip, you will be met and transferred to the lodge. After settling in and enjoying a meal, you will head out on safari this afternoon - Kwara is an amazing area to explore on game drives, by boat and mokoro!

Your schedule follows the usual morning and afternoon safari activities, with light meals in between and dinner in the lodge at night.

Sadly, today your safari comes to an end!

After your morning activity, you will be road transferred back to the lodge airstrip in time for your light aircraft flight back to Maun with MOREMI AIR were you will connect with your scheduled flight on AIRLINK 303 at 13.15 to Johannesburg. Again we don't have light aircraft flight times, but the lodge has your departing flight time and will make sure you are back in time to check in for that.

Arriving in Johannesburg, you will need to collect your luggage and make your way to the International Terminal for check-in to your flight home (own arrangements).
