3 Day Pilanesberg 5 Star Ivory Tree Lodge

Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa’s fourth largest game park, is situated in a crater in the Bojanala Region of the North West Province. This crater is the product of a volcano that erupted many millions of years ago. This extinct volcano has evolved to become one of the most fascinating landscapes for you to visit. By the Genesis project the majority of South Africa’s wildlife is now found in the Pilanesberg game reserve. The park covers an area of 55 000 hectares. More than 7000 animals live here in a free and unhindered environment. Pilanesberg is home to all of the BIG 5 (elephant, rhino, leopard, buffalo and lion) and we guarantee that you will be able to tick off most on your list of game sightings! Other animals that you may encounter are zebra, giraffe, cheetah, hyena, hippo, crocodile, jackal, wild cat, various antelope as well as over 300 bird species the list is endless. Pilanesberg offers over 200 km of roads for guided or self-drive game viewing. On our tour you enjoy an extensive game drive conducted by an experienced and knowledgeable tour guide who will answer all your questions about the fascinating wildlife and environment. Bring your camera to have a permanent record of all the wild animals and the spectacular landscape this National Park has to offer.

Being on a safari, means early morning wake up calls from your guide as the sun rises over the National Park.

Tea and coffee is served in the lodges main dining area, before departing on a morning open vehicle safari drive. ‘

Your guide and tracker will follow up on any spoor (animal footprints) that can be found on the gravel roads to track down the movement of the animals overnight. The morning safari drives are exciting to say as much, anxiously waiting to see what your guide and tracker have located. Getting up close and personal with the animals in the Kapama Game reserve is a daily basis, as your guide can travel of the road to get you amazing photographic opportunities.

On returning to the Lodge, a well-deserved breakfast is served before enjoying the heat of the day at the Lodge, in the comfort of your room, by the swimming pool and sipping on a cocktail at the Lodges well stocked Bar.

A light lunch and High tea are available at the Lodges main dining area before returning to the Open vehicle to enjoy a sunset safari drive in the Africa Wilderness. Your guide and tracker will make use of powerful spot lights to search for the animals once the sun has set over the distance Drakensberg Mountains.

Dinner is served once again at the Lodge, before retiring to your en-suite room for the night.

Safaris are all about early morning and late afternoon safari drives, as this is when the animals are most active. 

Today will be woken up by your guide at Sunrise, before enjoying a cup of coffee and then departing on a morning open vehicle safari drive. Your guide will take time in tracking the animals routes through the night. 

Breakfast is served at your lodge, before being collected and then you more than welcome to either do an afternoon Closed vehilcle (Minivan) safari drive or self guided visit to the Sun City Hotel and Casino Resort. 

By 15:30 we depart the National Park and make our way back to Johannesburg and drop you off at any hotel or address.
