Days 5 - 6: Franschhoek

Young Boschendal  guests are invited to enjoy an authentic outdoor family experience with our Outdoor Programme or enjoy free play at our Tree House playground. Fun on two wheels is found at our pump track where you can bring your own bike or rent one from us.

The Outdoor experience under the leadership and professional guidance of our Tree House team have morning. afternoon and full-day slots and is open to day as well as and overnight visitors. Pre-booking is essential as numbers are limited.

Days 7 - 8: Grootbos Private Nature Reserve

Journey back to when the world was new as you explore lush landscaped gardens set amidst and ancient forest.

We go beyond simply conserving this pristine wilderness we call home. We’re constantly researching, innovating and pioneering new ways of doing things, and winning many eco-tourism awards along the way.

Our reserve offers you the chance to immerse yourself in the unique fynbos kingdom and ancient forest of Grootbos, featuring 800 plant species, 118 bird species, 29 mammals and 21 amphibians – some of which are under threat of extinction.

This is big sky country and is the most diverse region in the Western Cape. Oudtshoorn is famous for its friendly people, the mystique of the magnificent landscapes, scenic routes through picturesque towns, world famous sights, lush vineyards and orchards and the dry open veld that stretches into the distance.

Mooiplaas Guest House is a luxurious four-star guest house in Oudtshoorn – situated on our family-run working ostrich farm, in the heart of the Klein Karoo.

Here you can enjoy the open spaces of the ostrich farm and the spectacular views of the magnificent and ever-changing purple Swartberg mountains.
