Depart the USA on an overnight flight to Argentina, arriving into Buenos Aires the next morning.
Upon arrival, you will clear immigrations & customs after which a Trek representative will meet you to assist with your transfer to the Alvear Palace Hotel. Once you check into the hotel and rest for a bit, your guide will meet you in the lobby to escort you on a half-day city tour of spectacular Buenos Aires. After getting acquainted with the city, we will enjoy lunch at the Estilo Campo Restaurant and then return to the hotel and enjoy an afternoon at leisure before gathering for dinner.
This morning your guide will meet you in the lobby of the hotel. You will have a full day city tour visiting the main points of interest in the city, such as the 9 de Julio Avenue, the widest avenue on Earth. Your tour includes a walk around the Plaza de Mayo (May Square), in the historic heart of Buenos Aires, which is surrounded by some of the oldest and most important buildings: The Casa Rosada (Pink House), where the government's executive branch is housed, the historical Cabildo and the Metropolitan Cathedral, where, inside, lies the remains of the General José de San Martín. You'll also visit La Boca, a typically Italian neighborhood, with its colorful houses and market.
Afterwards, the tour continues to the modern Puerto Madero neighborhood, with its former port warehouses, now turned into offices, flats and top restaurants, past San Martin Square towards Palermo Chico residential district and Palermo Park with its Jacaranda and Palo Borracho trees which flower in the spring and late summer. The tour continues to the Recoleta elegant district to visit Recoleta Cemetery where the famous are laid to rest (including Eva Peron).
During the tour, you will take time to enjoy a wonderful lunch at one of the city's top restaurants Piegari Restaurant (lunch included). The tour will end later in the afternoon, still giving you time to relax and enjoy some refreshing leisure time to prepare for the evening's events. Tonight you will enjoy a tango show at Rojo Tango, which is one of the highlights of Buenos Aires. Dinner is included with the show and after the entertainment concludes your guide will transfer you back to your hotel and let you know what time to be ready for your morning flight to Cordoba.
This morning your guide will meet you in the lobby of the hotel and transfer you to the airport and help you check in for your flight to Cordoba. Upon arriving in Cordoba City, a member from H&H Outfitters will be there to greet you and transfer you about 90 minutes to Guayascate Lodge. You will be greeted with champagne then shown to your room. There is no hunting on this day so take time to relax or explore at your leisure.
For those participating, these will be three full days of shooting. The staff will provide you with details in regards to breakfast and morning departure times.
For those who will not be shooting, enjoy a range of activities at Guayascate Lodge including the spa, walking/hiking and horseback riding or spend some time lounging by the pool and hot tub with a good book and an even better cocktail.
One of the days we will have a group lunch out in the field one afternoon, an outing that is always thoroughly enjoyed by all.
You will depart the lodge this morning and be transferred to the airport for your flight to Mendoza. Upon arrival into Mendoza, a Trek representative will meet you at the airport and drive you to the Park Hyatt Hotel. After checking in, we will have a walking tour of the city with Tapas and wine tasting at Chinita's Wine Bar. After the wine tasting we will have dinner at Azafran Restaurant
Mendoza is a great city to walk around in, discovering the various shops and restaurants in the area. Your hotel is centrally located and many amazing and interesting places are within an easy walking distance.
A full day awaits, beginning by meeting the guide in the hotel lobby at 8:45 to dive into the heart of Argentina's wine country. The first stop will be at Benegas, a traditional winery owned by the Federico Benegas, the grandson of the areas most prominent wine industry player. Savor their bold red wines and view their unusual poncho collection. The winery also displays family relics that provide perspective on wine making at the turn of the 20th century.
Next, visit Catena Zapata, a showcase winery designed to resemble a Mayan temple overlooking dramatic views of vineyards and mountains. Learn some of the history behind Argentina's great winemaking families and how they were the catalysts in the paradigm shift to improve the quality of Argentine wines.
Lunch will be enjoyed at Lagarde, a traditional winery featuring vintage oak casks and winemaking methods. Known for their aging potential, their Viogniers and Henry line are treasures for any cellar. Soak up their beautiful and picturesque courtyards as you swirl and sip your way through their delicious and innovative multi-course menu.
Following lunch, return to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Enjoy a recovery nap or jump right back out into the city to shop or explore. Meet this evening for dinner at Cordillera Vinos y Fuego.
This morning meet in the lobby to travel to Maipu, a town outside of Mendoza. Here you will learn the secrets of Argentine cuisine with a private, hands-on cooking class with Chef Sergio Guardia. Chef Sergio is a genius in the kitchen and his partner-in-crime, Lucas, will keep you entertained the entire time. Take the chance to delve into some of Argentina's most traditional recipes while enjoying the delicious, highly prized wines of SinFin winery in their beautiful outdoor kitchen near the vineyards.
Return to the hotel after your interactive cuisine adventure and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Enjoy a farewell dinner as a group this evening.
No activities are planned today as you will be transferred back to the airport to begin your journey back to the United States.
