Day 1: Windhoek

Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, you will be met by a local representative and assisted to with the collection of your fully equipped camping vehicle.

After the collection of the vehicle, begin your  self-drive journey to the camping site located in Windhoek.

The travelling distance to the camping site is approximately 45km.

Time permitting,  you can embark on an optional  3 hour Windhoek City & Township Tour.

The Windhoek City & Township tour includes a stunning view over Windhoek from the famous Lover’s Hill while you get to know the comprehensive history of Windhoek and Namibia from colonial era to modern day. Visit the Christ Church, Ink Palace, Parliament Gardens, and the Old Fort before heading into the township of Katutura to meet the people, taste of local delicacies and learn the history of Windhoek and it's people.

Additional Information

The camping sites are all located within the beautiful naturally occurring “bushveld” on Arebbusch Travel Lodge, which creates a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

For guests’ convenience, there is, within easy walking distance, a swimming pool, a restaurant and a reception, which is open 24 hours a day.

Day 2: Etosha South

After your leisurely breakfast (own arrangements), check out and proceed on your self-drive journey to Etosha.

The travelling distance to the camp site is approximately 435km.

When entering the Anderson Gate, Okaukuejo Camp is located 17km from entry

Enjoy a leisurely drive through the park to your camp site and perhaps encounter some game en-route. Boasting an abundance of game, Etosha is not only home to the Big 4, but some of the rarest wildlife species such as the black-faced impala, Hartmann’s mountain zebra and the smallest antelope in the world, the Damara dikdik.

Day 3: Etosha South

Head out on an early morning game drive to catch the predators while they are still active and possibly enjoy a picnic breakfast (own arrangments) at one of the fenced picnic spots within the park.

Covering approximately 22,300 square kilometres, Etosha has one of the largest and possibly the most stable population of black rhino in the world as well as the giraffe. 

The many waterholes around the park provide an  incredible opportunity for better game viewing and some phenomenal photography.  

Optional guided game drives can be arranged at an extra cost.

Day 4: Palmwag

After your leisurely breakfast (own arrangements), check out and proceed on your self-drive journey to the Hoada Campsite.

The travelling distance to the camp site is approximately 265km.

Time permitting, you can embark on some of the optional activities  available  or enjoy some leisure time at the pool.

  • Sun Cycle Tours - If you are not that keen to walk, Hoada Campsite has 8 solar-powered bicycles for a morning or afternoon guided ride. The activity lasts 2 hours. 
  • Damara Cultural Tours - Guests will be guided through surrounding conservancy farms visiting a couple of authentic homesteads of the Damara people which allows them with the exclusive opportunity to spend time with their hosts understanding their origins, cultures, traditions and their approach to human wildlife conflict farming within the harsh desert conditions. 
  • Hoada Deck - Watch the sunset from our deck or from the pool.  The pool lies between the granite boulders and offers some much needed respite from the heat.

Additional Information

The campsite is located among beautiful granite hills and mopane trees. There are three campsites, each with its own well equipped bathroom facilities including showers and toilets.

To add an eco-friendly touch, the hot water system works in combination with the braai area, therefore whilst you are busy cooking your food, your water will be warmed up for your shower. All six luxury camp sites can easily accommodate eight persons, with ample designated areas for four tents or vehicles with roof-topped tents.

Day 5: Brandberg

After your leisurely breakfast (own arrangements), check out and proceed on your self-drive journey to the The Brandberg White Lady Camping Site. 

The travelling distance is approximately 257km

Please note that there are 2 routes for self-drives, we would recommend avoiding the route going via Palmwag.

Time permitting, enjoy an optional  activities available 

Desert Elephant Drive - The desert elephants are roaming the Ugab River between June/July to Nov/Dec. Their visit to this area is seasonal and all depends on the rainy season. The rest of the year (summer time or when the country gets rainfall) they move further north and out of the rivers into farm lands. Thus our drives also depend on the time of year and if the elephants are in the area.

Sundowner/Scenic Drive - The drive departs an hour and a half before sunset. Guests are taken on a scenic nature drive in the area before stopping at the perfect spot for a sundowner.

Hiking - Free hiking is possible in the area. There are no set trails, but guests are welcome to explore the area by foot, following roads around the lodge.

Additional Information

The lodge was awarded the title "most natural camp site", three years in a row. Every camp site has its own braai (barbeque) and water tap. Six ablution blocks with toilets and hot showers are spread over the site. A large and shady lapa, suitable, complete this romantic spot in the river .

  

Day 6: Swakopmund

After your leisurely breakfast (own arrangements), check out and proceed on your self-drive journey to Swakopmund.

The travelling distance is approximately 230km via Uis.

Take a leisure walk through the town or spend the remainder of the day relaxed at your camping site.

Alte Brucke has 36 fully lawned camp sites. Each camp site has its own private bathroom, a built braai, 220V power point and wash basin. Wifi is also available at the camp site.

Day 7: Swakopmund

Enjoy your day at leisure to explore your surroundings

Below optional activities can be arranged at an extra charge. 

  • Full Day 4x4 Sandwich Harbour (Half Day option available) -The  tour starts every morning at 10h00 at the Sandwich Harbour 4x4 office at the Waterfront in Walvis Bay. After a short break at the Walvis Bay Lagoon to see masses of flamingoes, we proceed to the Kuiseb river delta, a dry riverbed where the odd springbok may be seen
  • Half Day Living Desert Tour - This is a unique 4×4 drive adventure into the scenic desert dunes outside of Swakopmund that offers outstanding scenic photography and an insight into the special creatures which thrive in seemingly impossible arid conditions
  • Full Day Marine Cruise & 4x4 Sandwich Harbour Combo - The Marine Dune Day gives you the ultimate combination of a leisure cruise on the Atlantic Ocean and a 4x4 ride in the breathtaking Sandwich Harbour Area of the Namib Naukluft Park. The day starts with a Marine Cruise with our sister company Catamaran Charters in the morning at 09h00 (check-in at 08h30 at the Walvis Bay Waterfront).
  • Full Day Kayak & Sandwich Harbour Combo - This day trip allows you to combine two of the most popular activities available at the Namibian coast: Kayaking on the Walvis Bay Lagoon and a 4x4 excursion to Sandwich Harbour. Kayaking Tour: You will be transported from Walvis Bay to Pelican Point at 07h45. Your morning is spent kayaking amongst the Cape fur seals.
  • Moonlandscape Sundowner - The tour departs from your establishment in Swakopmund. With astonishing views to get lost in we will provide scrumptious snacks, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. A comfortable set up will be provided, where you can sit, relax and enjoy the magnificent sunset over the Moonlandscape.

Day 8: Sesriem

Bid farewell to the beautiful coastal city of Swakopmund as you  continue your self-drive journey to Sesriem.

The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore your surroundings.

Additional Information

The camp site at Sesriem receives its name from the nearby canyon of the same name. This is the gateway to the sand dune desert and on to one of Namibia's most popular and famous tourist attractions, the dunes at Sossusvlei.It is set amongst a beautiful surrounding landscape, with mountains to the east and dunes to the west.

Day 9: Sesriem

After your leisurely, enjoy a self-guided tour to the dunes and marvel at the view from the top.

Walk over Deadvlei, a sight to be seen with its cracked white clay and skeletal trees. Pay a visit to the Sesriem Canyon which offers a refreshing reprieve from the harsh desert heat.

Day 10: Windhoek

Day 11: End of Itinerary

Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, make your way through to the vehicle hire kiosk to drop off your vehicle, where the standard check in & inspection will be done.  Thereafter continue through to the check in counter for your onward travels, taking home with you many happy memories of your recent holiday
