As you trek higher, the dense forest begins to give way to more open terrain, offering the first glimpses of the Mount Meru peak in the distance. By the afternoon, you'll reach Miriakamba Hut (2,500 meters), your accommodation for the night. Here, you can take in panoramic views of the mountain and surrounding areas while allowing your body to adjust to the higher elevation.

After reaching Saddle Hut, take time to relax and hydrate in the peaceful surroundings.

The final day of your Mount Meru trek is the pinnacle of your adventure, as you aim for the summit—Socialist Peak (4,566 meters). The day begins early, with a departure from Saddle Hut around 2:00 AM to ensure you reach the peak in time to witness a stunning sunrise.
The path is challenging, with steep inclines, rocky terrain, and volcanic scree. As you ascend through the alpine desert and summit zone, the air grows thinner, and the environment becomes more barren, but the reward for your efforts is immense. Trekking under the stars, the breathtaking views will unfold as the sun rises, casting beautiful light over the surrounding landscape.
Reaching the summit of Socialist Peak, you’ll be treated to panoramic views, including a clear sight of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance (on a clear day) and the spectacular Meru Crater below. The sense of accomplishment upon reaching the summit is incredible, as you soak in the beauty and serenity of the highest point on Mount Meru.
After some time at the summit, begin your descent back to Saddle Hut to rest before continuing to Miriakamba Hut for the night. The descent offers additional views and a chance to reflect on the journey.

The final day of your Kilimanjaro trek begins with a descent from Miriakamba Hut (2,500 meters), gradually transitioning through the montane forests as you make your way toward Momella Gate (1,500 meters). The path is mostly downhill, making this section easier compared to previous days of ascent. As you walk, you’ll pass through a lush rainforest zone, encountering various bird species and possibly some wildlife like monkeys and antelope.
Arriving at Momella Gate marks the official end of your trek. You’ll sign out, collect any certificates (if applicable), and take a moment to reflect on the incredible achievement you’ve just completed. It’s a bittersweet moment as you leave the mountain behind, but the memories of the climb will stay with you forever.
Afterward, you'll be driven to Kilimanjaro International Airport, a journey that takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. This drive gives you one last chance to appreciate the stunning landscapes and enjoy a relaxing conclusion to your adventure before heading to the airport for your departure.
